Brooklyn Museum of Art also worth it, and yeah Bronx Zoo is cool, and there's a little zoo in Central Park too as I recall. also, the carousel and the castle in the park.. different area than across from the museum, you'll have to ride around to another corner :D

I would highly suggest MOMA and the Brooklyn zoo, both are really awesome and a nice way to spend the day. I don't know if anyone else mentioned this before but I go into NY like 10 times a year to see concerts. Check out bands you are interested it, chances are at least one of them might be playing in the city. I don't know if you are still going in the "Summer" but I know they had a shit ton of free concerts this summer so it might be worth checking out.

I personally wouldn't waste your time with Chinatown unless you like the lingering smell of trash and warm fish.

I'll second the Toys R Us thing. I actually bought Rock Band from there 2 days ago! You could go to Union Square too around like 2 or 3 PM and watch all the hippie kids protest while a bunch of others skateboard by.

Didn't Coney Island/Astro Land close down temporarily so they could rebuild it since it's so god damn old?

If you like shopping, check out Prince Street/Soho. They've got a wide selection there.

Otherwise, just roam around Manhattan.

Oh and you probably won't need to rent a car. The transit and bus system is pretty reliable and quick. If not, jump on a dollar (1.50) van!

There used to be a great place for knishes across the street from Coney Island (Mrs. Stahls I think, they were available in delis across the tri-state area but the main store was there) but they're closed. It's really hard to find a great knish these days ; ;

The Nintendo Store had some cool things, but it's nothing compared to some of the other places NYC has to offer. Although, it's nice to see for what it's worth and you wouldn't have to spend a lot of time there to check out everything. They had a still-working original GameBoy that survived some intense Gulf War explosion and a few other random, but cool, items. I was there well before the Wii, so I'd imagine the setup is pretty different there now. The lower floor was full of original DS interactives while the upstairs had like 25 GameCubes, with the Donkey Kong bongos being the main attraction. '-';

- Korea Town* (it's just a block, good for dinner if you want to try Korean)

Going to K-town for the first time blew my mind. At some point, everything just switches to Korean and all of a sudden everyone around you is Korean. Whenever I visit Ryko and Nakayorz, we end up here a lot. Definitely visit if you want to try Korean food.

The M and M store is a huge ass tourist trap. Go check it out because it's crazy how they can make like a 3 floor store out of M and Ms, but don't buy any candy lol.

it's just shops next to the water, never really found anything interesting about it. well it's nice for like a date but it's not really a tourist spot imo (unless you're from like Arizona or something and an actual river is foreign to you).

Lets see. I'm gonna relist things probably but

WTC and surrounding area. There is an awesome plaza with restaurants surrounding it along the water with Battery park running north and south.

Times Sq for hilarious guys who will sell you their sick newest most awesome raps ever for 5 bucks.


All the museums you can handle. MoMA, Guggenheim, Natural History, the Met

Pizza - DON'T get pizza in touristy areas, they use wayyy too much cheese and the quality blows. My favorite pizza is Bleecker St Pizza on Bleecker and 7th but that's a bit far away.

Restaurants - I would use menupages.com or another listing service to find the right match for what you want. I find their ratings to hold up 99% of the time.

Also if you have a few hours hop on the Circle Line cruise, its a boat that will take you all the way around Manhattan, shows you a great view of Manhattan from the water. Best time to do it is around 4:30 and you get back early but can still see the nighttime skyline.

Central Park - I would start in the middle and work your way down through the paths. Hop off the subway at around 86-96th. Hit the Apple Store and FAO Schwartz on the southeast corner of the park and stroll down past all the big name stores (Bergdorf's etc)

i would honestly avoid most of Chinatown, it really smells awful in most of it. If you are going to go, just head through Canal St and up and down Mott st around there for some AMAZING food.

Make sure you get to Grand Central too, its quite a site to walk through.

If you are a weaboo then head to around Astor Place off the 6th train, there is a great bubble tea joint called TKettle and lots of your kin will be annoying the very hot and nice cashiers. I'll recommend the Lychee Black Tea w/ bubbles on ice.

hmmm i'm out of obvious ideas except if you want to do broadway then definitely get tickets from a TKTS booth they have some sweet deals.

Yankees game if you want to see them let their final season in the house Babe built get ruined.
