Getting beat by the bots QQ
Out of 21 people, only 14 got their first game right. The Bengals, Lions and Chargers losing all caught some people offguard. Tyr either did not pick or picked one of the Monday night games. I believe if you sign up now or forgot to pick, you can still pick the results of one of the games up until kickoff.
As a reminder, if you lost the first game, you're just behind, you're not out. You can keep making picks each week, and whoever has the most picks correct at the end of the season wins the contest.
And I have to say, I'm really glad I picked the Patriots this week. Assuming Brady is out, it's going to be very hard to be as confident about them again this year.
With Week 1, there were some pretty clear picks, I don't see nearly as many next week.
Possible candiates:
49ers @ Seahawks
Dolphins @ Cardinals
Titans @ Bengals
Giants @ Rams
Packers @ Lions
Before last week, I thought Falcons @ Bucs was my clear pick for week 2, but not so much anymore.
My initial thinking of "pick against the Dolphins, what could possibly go wrong?" damn near backfired on me. Way too damn close on that one, hopefully this next week is far kinder to me.
How do I make selections for Week 2? I can't seem to find it, or does it not open until tomorrow or something?
YOU can't because you are winning >.>;
Nevermind, I found it D:
Fucking Colts/Chargers....who would have guessed?
Having a hard time in the eagles/cowboys game...
eagles always play so well against them
Imo that isn't even one of the top 5 hardest games to pick for week 2... Cowboys for sure.
Cowboys D is going to eat up that weak WR core. If Desean can get single coverage on Pacman they will be able to throw deep, but that is about it.
STL sure did a good job at making those WR look great though didn't they
Yeah... the worst team in the league usually does that...to anyone.
I hope you aren't comparing STL to Dallas lol.
I'm not, just pointing out the obvious lol. Philly's #3 4 and 5 WRs all almost ended up with 100 yard games in that one
It's obvious they played STL
? That was the obvious thing I was pointing out. I'm confused![]()
Necrobumping this thread to put some closure to it, plus it will be sure to piss off Senoska.
BG Fantasy Games Update:
No idea about Fantasy Football, but Eliminator is over and the SD-Denver game will be irrelevant to the outcome of Pigskin Pick Em.
Pigskin Pick Em technically has one game left, but all three people tied for first picked San Diego, and the next people are two points behind, so they can't catch up. A three way tie between Weltall, Naafeih, and an entry charmingly known as "Devin Thomas has AIDS," at 157 (or 158 if San Diego wins tonight) correct picks for the season. The first tiebreaker for overall prize (not the weekly prize, which has a different tiebreaker and isn't relevant here) is Points Scored in Week 17, which means Weltall won the tiebreaker. Congrats to him for winning...some bragging rights, which I'm sure we'll hear about.
In the Eliminator Challenge, with two weeks to go, BarthelloSylph had a perfect entry and looked to coast to a win. Five people were one game back with one loss. In Week 16, Barthello slipped up, as did three of the people who previously had one loss, leaving three people -- Barthello, Ryany, and myself -- tied with one game left. Ryany and I went with Green Bay for week 17, Barthello with Tampa Bay. Since Tampa Bay lost, that put Ryany into a tiebreaker, which went back to points scored in the most recent game when our teams didn't match. That was Week 14, were the Titans (my pick) scored 28 as opposed to the Vikings (Ryany's pick), who scored 20. So congratulations to me on winning the Eliminator based on an obscure tiebreaker.
I used the official Grand Prize tiebreakers from ESPN for tiebreaking purposes. Although I like the system in Pick Em, for next year I think the Eliminator tie breaker should be the entry that stayed perfect the longest. You'd still base it off total points, but in case of a tie, longest perfect stretch to start the season wins. (Although it wouldn't matter this year, as Ryany and I both missed the same game in Week 6).
That brings the total BG contest list to:
2006 Bowl Pick Em: Makaveli
2006 BG Fantasy Football: Thuggy
2007 March Madness: Byrd
2007 College Football Pick Em: Ryany
2007 Bowl Pick Em: Akiyama
2008 NFL Gridiron Playoff Challenge: Tyr
2008 March Madness: Snoogans
2008 College Pick Em: Byrd
2008 Eliminator: Byrd
2008 Pigskin Pick Em: Weltall
2008 Bowl Pick Em: Current
If Tyr (or someone) can figure out a winner between BG East & BG West, we can add that to the list.
There was a prize for the pickem :D? I just want someone to buy this Ipod Touch before I ebay it
Of course, you will hear from me about being the pickem champion because "all you know about is Titans you fucking homer" right?
1/1 in BG challenges! Next year, I will whoop your asses in fantasy![]()
