My Rock Band Guitar Sucks!

They usually all suck, that's why I try to use guitar hero controllers whenever possible.

yeah, the RB controller does indeed suck and is inferior to GH.
sadly for PS3 you cant use GH one. You can buy a 3rd party controller though. I believe there's one modeled after GHs but not certain.

I think its based on preference. I don't see that big a change from GH and RB. Besides the (note hitting space). I can't think of the word for it right now .

Shitty design? I have tried picking up a RB controller a bunch of times now and it just seems so bulky compared to a GH controller. It's also small but the click when you strum on GH controllers is sooooooooooo nice and you don't even realize how nice it is till you try the RB guitar.

The Strat is terrible, but you're SOL on using the GH controllers. Might want to look at picking up the new guitar that comes with RB2, it's apparently a massive improvement on the RB1 version.

Also get RB for 360 so I can crush you in guitar. Q_Q-b

My original Rock Band controller was awful, but its because it turned out to be defective (the strum bar was for it, they said they knew it was an issue and replaced it for free). However, the one I got in return sucked in my opinion too. Then again I was used to playing Guitar Hero so it might just be the fact I was more familiar with one than the other. I'm on PS3 and unfortunately I can't use my GH guitar for Rock Band :/

Strats up to preference; I love mine mainly because my GH3 controller shitted on me, though it did take a day or two to adjust. Though I hate how loud the frets are, didn't feel like modding them either.

Loud top frets and too much flex and give in the RB guitar neck were every reason not to buy the game for the PS3. That and the 'getting DLC late' problem. It's a goddamn shame.

By the way, regarding the incompatibility between the PS3 Rock Band and GH3 controllers. There was a post on the PS blog the other day talking about how Sony is working very closely with the respective companies to get that shit fixed. Will edit in a minute with the link.

That would be good news, owning both GH3 controllers and RB controllers, and the upcoming release of RB2, I'd rather be able to hook the hole shebangabang up and go 4 wide than have to buy another plastic guitar.

This is because Rock Band actually has you play the music, where GH3 is some random clusterfuck of notes that makes no sense. You're better off for it, GH3 fails hardcore as a rhythm game.

This is so true. There are so very, very few songs in GH3 that seem anywhere close to the music.

Personally though, I like the RB controller. The frets remind me more of a real guitar since they are recessed and it makes it far easier to slide if needed IMO. The GH3 controller just feels goofy to me now.

The RB controllers are so much nicer if you manage to get your hands on one that isn't defective.

Your GH3 guitar sounds better than mine. I'd prefer one that sucked vs one that stopped working 1month+ after I stopped playing GH3 regularly!
