Cerberus... does he build a stun resist.

Hey everyone,
This topic is relatively simple does Cerberus build up a resistance to stun? I have recently been asked by my shell not to stun out of fear of it building a resist. We watched a shell wipe to Cerb months ago that had a single stun resist... was it a fluke or if it is nin/drk tanked stunning the whole time will it resist when its time to actually start stunning GoH?

Not that I've noticed. I've seen fluke resists from RDM stuns though. Anyone with 200+ Dark skill should be able to reliably stun it throughout the fight, unless they patched it recently.

Tanked it a ton of times on drk/nin, never saw a single resist, and I was using Stun pretty much whenever it was up.

definitely doesn't build resist, only seen it resisted from DRK a handful of times in 120+ cerbs. anything with less than 250ish dark skill gets resisted more often though.

Never been resisted once in all the Cerbs I've done with straight blm dark magic skill, no equip, no merits.

However, we did have a weird glitch once where cerb did a back to back to back (sigh) GoH row, and I did get a "no effect" message because the stun from the first stunned GoH was still in effect somehow, despite the fact that Cerb was readying his second GoH. As a result, the second went off. No one could explain it at the time, and we were wiped when the third went off while trying to pick up the pieces from the second. It was a "no effect" message though, not "resists the spell".

Cerb doing 3+ GoH attempts in a row isn't a glitch...he does it all the time for us. Our record was 7 attempts in a row before he used I think his aoe paralyze. Luckily he waited like 10 seconds or so between attempts, since we only had 2 rdm/drk stunners, and they were riding their timers very close with haste and double marchs.

I've seen weird 'no effect' messages on stun though, usually it happened if a melee for some reason tried to stun with a weaponskill, and the stun caused no effect from the blm or rdm but didn't last long enough to stop GoH.

I think he means the glitch was it still used GoH even though it said it was still stunned. (So it shouldn't have been able to do anything)

It doesn't build resistance. But there might be some occasions where stun will resist depending on the stunners dark magic skill level. If you're using NIN/DRK to tank it's normal for them to have around a 25% chance of stun landing, it'd be very rare for a RDM/DRK to get resisted, unless for some reason they don't use a Jupiter's Staff or something.

I have never experienced a Stun resisting on Cerb. Any Stun that does is a fluke.

Honestly, I've never seen a resist on a Stun on Cerb. The only time it's ever said resist is if the stunner goes too late and the stun goes during the TP move. It's a random glitch but in the end means the stunner failed.

As for it being a fluke, Cerb can spam Gates a pretty ridiculous amount of times before switching to another TP move (often Hoplon...). As mentioned it's usually 7-8x from my experience, but i've heard worse. If the GOH Spam starts going fast and you don't have RDM/DRK doing the Stuns, BLM stun recast might have owned them.

I only see NIN/DRK getting resisted stuns because of low skill. I've never seen a RDM BLM or DRK ever get resisted.

Just be thankful its not like Sarameya.... almost instantly build stun resist. Lame.

Also, this has me wondering... is the GoH move that normal Cerberus uses stronger than the one that Sarameya uses? I had never heard that there was a difference, but this topic makes me think otherwise. I've seen our PLD take 0 dmg from GoH with his fire build/bar spells up. It's just the fact that he Chainspells it at the end that makes it difficult.
