How are the Battle Voices Zilong? I just took the 'normal' undub route, so none for me. You haven't had any issues with syncing or doubling up on voices?

It's kinda nifty when they're initiating team attacks and end the battle, but really nothing major.

For the syncing issues, you just need to replace one of the file, I had mine on silencing some of the pointer that causes the desync, so it's doing really well.

Only problem with using JP rom as base is that the .sav doesnt match the EU version, so if you wanna use it, you'd have to start from scratch, which I did anyway because I felt like missing a lot of the experience by just silencing pretty much all the fucking sound after the desync occurs on my first playthrough.

That and I missed some milestone sensitive characters...so I ended up just restarting anyway.

And man, this game doesn't even try to be hard...by just spending like 10-20 mins of trading, you'd easily unlock best armor and best/second best gears from the HQ shop, and you can get the quest for the strongest sword by just getting 2 or so characters. The only really annoying part about the battle is that if you're caught against enemies that resists your damage type (read: slash, who the fuck uses anything else?)

How is this game? I'm hoping I've avoided whatever the 'necrobump' cutoff is (if there even is one), but rather than a new thread I figured I'd ask here.

I already bought it, it's shipping, I'm just wondering what peoples' overall feelings are on it;
i.e. gameplay, storyline, etc... you know.

I think it was pretty good for being a hand-held game, but for a game with the word "Suikoden" in it, it was pretty horrible.

The MC voice acting is also horrible.

I'm always a bit wary of voice-acting, somehow I just feel it doesn't do well in games that need to be translated =/

I prefer non-voice acting, text-driven RPGs and the like, just one less thing for them to screw up (SO4 I'm looking at you >.>)

Don't consider it a "Suikoden" and it's an alright game. Compared to other Suikoden games it's very lacking, but it's not terrible and the only thing really dragging it down is the fact that they have that name in it and it falls short in comparison.

I liked it. As far as other RPG's go, I'd give it about a 7.5/10. The one thing I found that really dragged the game down was the lack of explainations for some material. I actually had to go back to figure out exactly what they meant by certain things but overall it wasn't that bad.

Voice acting was meh, but for me its never really the determining factor in any game as I read the text much much faster than the voices speak it.

its about 25 hours without doing sidequests or full recruitment, but I've heard others who get full recruitment take up to 40 hours.

I thought it was worth picking up, but will it stay in my collection as long as titles such as FF9 and legend of dragoon, probobly not.
