Having a midnight release at the Gamestop i go to, cant wait till monday night, so tired of seeing the damn commercial, I wanna play ;/
EGM gave it a C
cites bad controls and battle mechanics, dumb AI, levels that drag on, bad animation, and magical force armor given to enemies past the first couple levels that makes most of your powers useless and defeats the purpose of the force being unleashed
yeah we had a discussion in the consoloe wars thread, ive seen it played on gamespot and it looks awesome, the demo was alot of fun and EGM and gaming magazines in general with a few exceptions suck at reviewing games.
Well, I got my hands on a leaked copy of the PSP version (Yes I know it's pirated and I've made comments about not doing that on PSP, I'm buying it when it comes out regardless), and it's honestly quite fun.
It's a bit repetitive (there's usually no more then 3-4 different enemies per level, and every boss fight is about the same), but the core gameplay I find pretty entertaining, and at least in regards to the PSP version, the physics are great.
From what I saw in the PS3 demo and also in what I've seen so far from the PSP version (about 6-7 levels in), there's basically 0 puzzles, it's just nothing but combat. Whether that's good or not is up to you, but I played it most of the night and enjoyed almost all of it.
Gamespot reports the game is about 8 hours long. Rental.
Any chance the final version is more fluid in its control system? When I played the demo, the split-second stops on every attack that connected bugged the crap out of me, as well as jumping/moving around feeling very.....stilted. The game also felt like it ran at 15fps on my PS3 for some reason?
May just rent it in the end of things, I haven't had my Jedi fix since Jedi Knight 2 way back.
The reviewer said that there were noticeable framerate problems in both versions (360 & PS3) of the game, also said that the controls are very frustrating in confined areas.
He did say its the best star wars story in years, I just finished it this morning and hae to agree with him. I would suggest renting it as well. I got a 360 ersion fromToysrus' last night the guy sold it to me early lol.. Anyway, I would suggest renting, howeer I did enjoy the game alot.
i like the controls on this tbh. the tutorial in the beginning really helps. i actually tried this game on the hard mode 1st just so i can get the feel for it faster. one thing i could never master was using the metal plates to crash the flying starfighters on the top levels. i know you dont need to, but i like to go "grand theft auto" on this game sometimes. one of my fav features is how ridiculously smart the AI is. using the force powers to make them go flying across the air will make them grab on to ledges and hold on for life, giving everything they have lol. this game is gonna be up there in the tier of games like MGS4.
The inability for your lighsabre to actually cut enemies just killed me in the demo. I'll probably try renting this, mostly because I have really enjoyed Star Wars games in the past, but the demo left me with a distinctly shitty taste in my mouth.
ign reviewed it today.

Pretty close to what Gamespot had to say, it's still worth a play the game is good, just really short.
I wanna cut bitches up like the next guy, but anymore now companies are trying to push out T's to get to more people, the almighty dollar is powerful(value aside!).
I like really gorey games personally, so I missed that too, but understood why it was missing obv.
