I'm pretty sure BtL's kill was after the wall fix, but before the wyvern lock fix.
First of all thank you for considering this a possibility; I was not referring to the dust cloud under AV when I spoke of animation difference, but rather the animation of AV during that few seconds. The dust cloud under AV is always the same, color depending on element base of 2hr, but if you watch the video again, and look closely at AV itself, pause and watch again ect. you will see that when 'readies' AV has an animation, when 'uses' there is no change in AV, just the dust cloud under it which occurs in both cases. Not only does AV hold a strange form during this (looks like it is going to cast but isn't) if you look closely, and watch a few times you will see little colored lines like you see when a wyvern is powering up to make a breath attack, as AV 'readies' the 2hr.
You are right about Lateral Slash, it could be a simple glitch in chat log, and yes the only SS I have seen of 'Absolute Virtue readies Lateral Slash' were the two I posted in my earlier post, and the one I personally saw from our attempt. In the three SS 'Absolute Virtue readies Lateral Slash' are followed by HF or mijin, but I can say 'Lateral Slash' may be the sign that it is leaving 'readies' mode due to the fact that it was the last thing before AV went back to 'uses' ALL 2hr.
Yes, AV began 'readies' directly after linking an aern, and even did that aern's job's 2hr, however that could have easily been a coincidence. Now, like I said I continued to link AV with aern for hours afterward to try to force AV to 'readies' again as that would be vital to finding whether the theory is correct or not. AV never did 'readies' again even after linking an aern, and shortly after AV 'uses' that job's 2hr hours after 'readies' fell. I do not think AV goes to 'readies' mode because of linking the aern only, but it could be possible you must do something to AV beforehand such as locking regen ect, because we did begin to nuke element of the day at one point during the fight. Recently we had few people on for an actual attempt, but we killed wynav, as we did that the day we took it to 'readies' mode to rule that out, and still no 'readies'. The basic answer I am looking for is what puts it in that mode, because I find that out, then I can actually test the theory which is 2hring same 2hr directly after 'readies'.
The reason I posted the information was not to begin an 'internet arguement' with anyone, but rather to hope that others would post any experiences they have with 'readies' in future attempts ect, but now with the nerf coming I guess that is futile at the moment, until we see what that brings.
I see now. The most clear difference is that he puts his weapon away when he "readies," but leaves it out when he uses a 2H normally. My initial thought would be that there could perhaps be some way to stun it in this period, even though he resists the spell, much like how--if I'm remembering correctly--the Uggalepih pendant NM cannot be stunned with a spell, but his spell will be interrupted if someone other than the intial target takes hate during the cast.
However, the 2H presumably begins at the start of the dust cloud (although the "uses" message won't be displayed until the animation completes as with other spells/abilities in the game), and there's not enough time between the weapon being put away and the 2H being readied in the log before the dust cloud initiates, let alone to recognize which 2H it is that you are intending to stun, so it would have to be something else (or another poorly-conceived aspect of the fight).
I thought that too, but somewhere I saw a SS of someone stunning AV right after a 'readies' once, but I forget where it was, anyway it was resisted. The most clear thing to do would be to 2hr after it, since that is clearly the 'key' in the SE video.
No, what I meant was it would suggest there could be some way to stun it without using Stun, the spell, much like how Uggalepih Pendant NM can be stunned by having someone else take hate mid-cast, even though a stun spell won't land on him, either. But, also that even if that is the case it would seem that there's not really any time to do whatever that is (use the same 2H or whatever other means one might suggest), much less identify which 2H he is readying to know that you would want to stun it in the first place.
..... well this thread has now taken a turn back into hell with the whole trying shit on AV that's already been tried. In b4 lock..
I don't know why everyones come down with a case of the retarded lately but all these threads go from awesome -> ass in record time. You can't kill AV or PW, that's why they're nerfing it. People have tried pretty much everything for AV, and if PW can't be killed in less then 18 hours then that's unkillable too.
Now now we both know that's not why they're nerfing it![]()
As for the AV crap, I'm sure the kill that was post wall glitch was from an LS on Cait Sith, I remember the topic saying they teamed up with a JP LS, and it stopped casting spells which made it killable, and we all know what happened on the following maintenance.
I thought Virtuous Saint's observation was interesting. I'm glad they are changing them even if they could be killed currently by way of some obscure, esoteric trick, but I'll still be curious about what that trick was until they come out and tell us, and I don't think that's a retarded viewpoint to have, nor do I think discussing it automatically makes a thread into ass, especially one that was already ass after the 7th page anyway.
Agreeing with Suiram, i like Virtuous Saints' observation. It's simplistic in nature, but easily overlooked and a theory is never wrong unless proven so. AV is defeatable, SE proved that, the only difference is they know how to do it. Sitting here and saying he's invincible is just so, somewhat, lazy. I enjoy listening and reading peoples' theories and ideas, no matter how obscure. I also like the fact there are items in this game which are almost untouchable, and which drive people to work for them.
All i can hope for is SE nerf AV/PW by making them despawn if conditions aren't met. The last thing i want to see are all the nerdy morons out there, flashing their e-peen all comparing their Ninurta Sashes(Plural for Sash? x_x) and Mars Rings.
That's just me, a mage from which AV holds only useless items.

Ya wow does that ever suck, granted you might actually be a Smn but still.
That's it. I've remembered my forum password.
It's over, go home.
Way to go rocl. I was gonna lock if it people started acting retarded again but you were all like "Im such a rocl" and bam you locked the thread.
You have too much faith in humanity.
