    I did this, but with 4gb ram, cost me $1k and will play all those games like a dream.

    Showed a friend my list after making the changes you guys recommended and the only thing he said to change was the mobo. What would be the next step up from the DFI LANPARTY DK P45-T2RS LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard?

    The motherboard is fine, you picked a good P45.

    However, if you still plan on the HD4870X2, you might not want a DFI board.

    Then either motherboard is fine. The Gigabyte can handle DDR2 or DDR3 if you want that upgrade path.
