Damn, beaten.
You're a contestant on Let's Make a Deal. Monty Hall gives you the typical 3 doors problem: 3 doors, 2 with goats and 1 with a sportscar. You pick door 1, prompting Monty to open door 3 to reveal a goat. Now, you have the option of either keeping your current choice or switching doors.
Which is the better option?

I don't understand the whole numbers part of it, Khamsin... :/ Maybe I am just missing something?
I was just thinking the same thing maybe I am being dense but I don't follow the 128 and -127 part.
It's computer terminology.
-128 to 127 is the size of a signed byte (2^8), whereas a word (sometimes called an integer) is 2^16. A double word and quad word are 2x and 4x that size, respectively.
I could have done greater than 255 and less than 0, but that doesn't sound as cool as greater than 127 and less than -128. And a signed word would go both higher than 127 and lower than -128.

Can't say I've ever heard of a 2^16 string being called a 'word' before, so that explains my confusion there. I recognized it as a signed byte, but couldn't get the correlation.
The men and women lines would be better summed as "women always have a few, men can never get one in edgewise" i think, but that may be too obvious.
