    PS2 HDD Icon Gone

    Someone please help me out. I recently switched new military housing and did my usual "PS2 setup," where I would have the modem and router directly linked with my PS2. Final Fantasy XI and PlayOnline were able to work for twenty minutes, where I was able to roam around on my character and view Auction House. However, the game froze and after I proceeded to reset my PS2, the HDD icon that normally appears on the menu vanished, along with any FFXI-related attachments that went along with it. I can't remember if a disc went along with the PS2 HDD component, and I am unable to find the box. Is there any way I'll be able to fix this?

    /frustrated. ;_;

    this happened to me when my dumbass little brother drop my ps2 causing the HDD to stop working....have you tried removing and putting the HDD back on? It might become loose and not connecting. If it that doesn't work then sadly your HDD gone for good...those thing break easy. Go to ebay to look for another HDD, I got my 2nd one from there and it only cost me only like $40

    Yeah, I'm still playing this addicting game after all these years. =p

    My poor HDD might be completely broken now. ;_; The PS2 is unable to "locate" the HDD even after I reassembled it back on.

    ::EDIT:: There's no way I can get my HDD to work, after numerous attempts at trying to "fix" this. Bye-bye Macros... Map Markers... every @#%^$^@ thing I ever saved on there. -_-

    It could be your PS2, eh. A friend dropped his PS2 and had the exact same problem. So I checked his HD with my PS2, it turned out his PS2 was busted and not the HD. You may wanna check that if you haven't.
