off topic, but in a thread that's supposed to be dominated with your prom night look-at-me screens, I have to ask if you people really just don't notice the ridiculous ar you're playing at?

if you went into a movie shown at 4:3 (a box in the middle of the screen) you'd just eat yer popcorn and cheer on Bruce Wayne while the normal ppl get the projectionist on the horn (harhar) ??

(some ppl ocd over punctuation- just call me the AR fairy... /wrist)

Some people play on 4:3 and even at lower resolutions because of their computer's power. Others because it makes it easier to dual box or multitask. The computer I'm using now while my laptop's in the shop is 1.7ghz, 512mb RAM, and a 128mb video card. That's not very fast when it comes to processing FFXI. Because of that, I play with 512x512 background and 800x600 resolution, to avoid extreme lag in places such as whitegate, wajaom, bhaflau, and dynamis. Some people don't mind lag and prefer graphics, but that makes them worse at their jobs.

When I use my laptop, which is indeed wide screen, I keep my game at the same resolution in order to keep dual boxing smooth. Gameplay > graphics for me.
