Relics will probably still be superior to any other options for their level. I imagine they'll scale down the added effects (and WS effects), but keep the triple damage proc and such, since it'll be more balanced considering the base weapon damage would be scaled down. I wanna see how Aegis is when level capped, though.
OR, SE could be completely nubby and get rid of all those "other effects" on relics, and make them have no triple damage proc, added effects, or anything.
ok welllllll at level 55! sorry its been awhile![]()
Hmmmm, how to use this to exploit relics? TO THE LABORATORY!
Relics will still probably have the highest DPS (and Aegis will be the best shield) no matter the level.
Dunno 'bout Gjallarhorn, though.
While the being able to wear non-level capped gear in level capped zones/missions is nice, nerfing the stats on them is utterly moronic and completely removes the point of wearing said gear. (Since most gear before the late 50s has utter crap for stats.) This is going to be about as useful as getting merits in level capped zones.Originally Posted by Square-Enix

Oh god yes!
Edit:
This is actually a pretty good update for the way traditional pt's worked. Now you can flatten the levels so that the one person 2 levels above everyone else doesn't ruin exp when he levels. Also, even though you can invite a 75 to your qufim pt (and get shot down) you could also just look a few levels higher and probably get a 'yes' since the exp/hr doesn't jump that much between lower level camps. All in all, I love this.
I wonder, do you think the weapons/armor will actually display their new stats, or will it just be a "hidden" change, where it's scaled down but if you examine the person the weapon/armor will still show as level 75?
I hate to break it to SE, but this system isn't as "revolutionary" as they'd like it to be. EQ2 has had this system in place from day one. There it's called "mentoring". There are a few differences. One difference is it's on a person by person basis not full party basis. And also there is an XP adjustment. The mentor takes a XP hit, while the mentoree gets a slight bonus. Finally, the spell/JAs you have access to are the same, but like your armor, they are scaled down.
But at the same time, this will make leveling so much nicer. I'm guessing that our spell line up will also be adjusted for that level. If so, pre-raise level is still gonna suck just as bad as it does now w/out a PL standing there, if for no other reason than wipe duty.
A new issue is going to develop:
/sea all RDM
and people scrolling down the list until you find someone willing to lower themselves to whatever level you're at. It might not be so bad at the 50s when you're killing Lesser Colibri, but the early 30s to late 40s aren't exactly the most fun of levels.
Still, it's a welcomed addition.
very nice. i was expecting the level sync system but not the equipment thing.
now to make friends with lv60 SMNs...
Seems i am the only one who really dislikes this.... its going to make some items jump to unreasonable prices and make others worthless. This will completely ruin crafting, period. Not to mention now the thrill of getting 75 will be lost to the non hnmls people.
What i am curious about is if u downscale with a 75 job to you retain the merits? would seem hella broken to me lol. But hey can make 9k/hr in 7 man ptys now easy! behe domian my new xp spot lol, dont you all take it over >.>
oh shit maze makers we are comming for j00! (my solo spots dead now)
