Yesterday was alot of peoples first day of school. Whether it be your first day at a new school, or new college, or just the next grade up, did you have a good day?

Mine was okay, and my classes seem pretty cool in comparison to how gay they've been the last couple years. I hate school so much, but this semester might not be so bad, minus having an 8 A.M. class.

Wasn't too bad. Worst part was all the fucking walking/running I had to do cause this place is huge as hell and everything was so far away from each other >_<

No kidding. Kids and post-secondary students don't start for at least another week here in BC.

Although in the Mari times, especially New Brunswick, it is still common for schools in rural areas to start in the middle of August then give kids 2 weeks off in late September for the potato harvest.

It feels strange not going through any sort of cycle, once you graduate and get a job there is no sense of the changing of seasons or time it just all kinda blurs together.

I'm 28. I went to college twice by the time I was 20, and both times, I completely blew it off, and withdrew halfway through the semester. Now that I'm in the professional environment, I regret not getting my Bachelor's, although I doubt I'd be making the money I am now if I had, because I probably wouldn't be doing what I'm doing.

In any case, Saturday was my first day of classes. I'm taking 13 hours, which I assume is full time, right? And I'm working full time. Already, I'm exhausted. I don't know why, as my course load doesn't seem too bad. CHEM 1405, ARTS 2323 (Life Drawing), MATH 1314 (Online), and HIST something (fucking stupid ass US history). It's just at a junior college, but it's a start right?

Well, so far, so good. My Chemistry class & Art classes are both great. Tonight is the one class I'm dreading, because I think US History is so unimportant. Don't get me wrong, I know it has its merits, but I think it's very problematic that people aren't forced to study World History first. I mean, it kind of emphasizes that the US is more important than what happened to the world before the country came to be.

School started about a week ago where I'm at. I drive back home right when kids are going into the middle school. It's only been a week and I've had kids ignore the crosswalk designed specifically for them and just dash out into traffic, causing me to slam on my brakes.

Oh boy, school season.

Not to mention all the fucking school zones are active once again. Local PD love to put speed traps around the school zones on major roads just to nab "speeders" in the first few weeks of schools with their double fines. Makes me glad I commute via bus these days heh

Don't get me wrong, school zones are important to increase the safety of children who should know better than to run out into the street. Nevertheless, they are a necessity.

I have 2 labs this semester which sucks but other than that I'm in classes full of people I know so it isn't bad at all. Workload might be rough but besides that, I feel like it'll be good.

My first day sucked because I'm slowly realizing that I suck at art/drawing. This is really bad considering I'm currently an Animation major.....

It's a sad day when you realize that Computer Engineering might be the easier degree for you to acquire.

Classes started yesterday for me as well. Aside from the facts I have 8:30AM classes everyday and I have a 2-credit-hour class that meets 6 hours a week, I'm actually glad classes have started back up again. We'll see how I feel farther into the semester, but for now, I just want to finish college; I'm trying to avoid half-assing this semester, like I have too many semesters prior. -_-;

Next Tuesday for me, and I'm looking forward to it. It's something different from nonstop work in a field I don't really enjoy.

I go to ITT Tech so our semesters are a little different. I am actually taking finals this week, then a week off. Then come back again for two more semesters, than out the door!
