Lars is a terrible, terrible, terrible drummer for having drummed 30yrs or more. He doesn't even know how to setup a drumset. He barely keeps on time, has no skill whatsoever and just fuck, horrible. I want his cymbals though :/
That was THE WORST Metallica song I have ever had the misfortune of listening to. GOOD GOD.
Well then you're going to love this.
HIS FUCKING SNARE. Jesus. You can't justify that. That's just terrible. God.
Oh please stop with this shit ; ;
We want more of this.
: 3
lars is not very good he cannot keep a tempo for his life which playing drums as long as he has been is pretty bad. I've heard some live stuff where he just goes fucking insane on the speed and fucks the entire song/show up.
Lars has said for years he uses Hetfield to help himself keep time. Personally though, when I've seen them live, he does fine. For whoever made the comment about them only touring playing the old stuff, they already do that. Their sets from around the time St. Anger was out (last time I saw them), they had like, 1 or 2 songs of Load/ReLoad in the set tops, everything else minus St. Anger was all from Black Album and prior.
Regardless, it's nice to hear Metallica going back to how they used to sound. Master of Puppets/Justice for All/Black Album was the best period, and this sounds alot like that, albeit with Rick Rubin's fucking awesome production this time around.
Anything that doesn't like Load/ReLoad is a great improvement.
The Day That Never Comes is pretty good in my opinion, it definitely throws it back a bit. Blend between One and Unforgiven. My Apocalypse is good as well. The only problem in both are the random section where the music/lyrics just become.... awkward. It's still an overall disappointment to me, but I don't think Metallica will ever really come out with the new songs that we want.
But fucking hell, Lars is god awful. Someone kill him and just throw a MIDI file in his place.
Hetfield has gotten his voice back a bit though. When I saw Metallica live a few years back.... oh man, it was pretty rough.
Atleast St. Anger was a step up from the utter shit Load and Reload was, Metallica will never be the same with out Cliff and Dave and even when they play the old stuff is doesnt sound as good. James' voice just sounds so different than what it used to be.
PS Lars is a pretty shitty drummer
How can you guys say he's shitty. I mean, he's certainly not the best drummer ever, but if he was as bad as you guys say, he wouldn't have been the drummer for more than 25 years now. He's certainly one of the drummers that led a lot of ppl to start drumming (like me >.>), and just for that he deserves some more respect.
As for James's voice, I was a bit afraid of it when I went to the Pinkpop this summer and I've been quite pleased because it sounded much better than on some vids from 2005-2006.
And to me StAnger is even worse than load/reload. I think I've never been able to listen to the entire CD once and even to most of the songs (I was sick of listening to it after the 3rd song ...), while there are still some pleasent songs on L/Rl (The Unforgiven I and II are not that bad).
I dont see why people hate on load (re is just as meh as st anger, but has some great songs though), tons of good songs on it. Ain't My Bitch, 2x4, Until It Sleeps, King Nothin, Hero of the Day, Bleeding Me, Poor Twisted Me, Until it Sleep, are all grade A+ songs, and the rest are damn good too.
I agree, Load was a pretty good album. Obviously not as epic as the previous few, but still had some great tracks. Reload was pretty bad overall, but again, had some great songs on it.
St. Anger... I don't think I liked any of the tracks. At all.
In regards to Hetfield's voice, he isn't drinking anymore, so the damage done to his vocal cords from all the whiskey is probably repairing itself.
Load has ok songs, but it's not Metallica, it's Bob Rock making Metallica playing radio rock.
I thought Load and Reload were really good. They were no ...And Justice For All of course, but still good. I like the new stuff so far, but his voice just isn't what it used to be. That sucks because he used to have an awesome stage-presence and a large part of that being his voice. Can't wait to hear Unforgiven III.
Until it sleeps and King Nothing are very good songs, like the feel of em. "Ain't my bitch" is good as well. Over all, they put out good albums until St. Anger (granted reload only had one decent song on there , but still) Can't wait for their new album though, I think most fans will be pleased with it.
