    Some Question for knee

It happened about two months ago after playing basketball for 3hrs non stop. I can feel the pain on my knee everything I walk downstairs or try to crouch down. Besides that, currently cold temperature will also cause me to feel the pain on my knee too.

I tried to rest a few days from any exercise that related to leg/knee, but it still not help. Anyone know the reason behind?

I had to check if the insuran does full cover for the medicine or not then. Else I had to wait till next summer to go back my home country for the medical check

Ice the knee twice a day, minimum. Keeping the leg elevated and moving around a lot (ie. don't sit playing FFXI for 8 hours) helps as well. Don't feel bad about taking painkillers if you need to, either. But if there's swelling, get to the doctor ASAP. :\

Possibly stretched your tendons or ligaments out a bit, resulting in inflammation or pain when placing a load on the knee.

I had a similar problem when I was a teenager. During the summer I did two weeks of tennis camps where I was way, way more active than I normally was. Because my quadriceps muscles were pretty underdeveloped considering the stress I placed on them doing tennis activities, a lot of stress was placed on the tendons and ligaments in my right knee. This resulted in a really sore knee that I was unable to bear weight on after exercising. I saw a doctor who referred me to a physiotherapist, who then just told me to wear a knee brace whenever I did strenuous activity.

I would suggest you seek professional medical council. Ligament damage does not repair on its own very well and really needs a doctor, kinesieologist (sp?), or physiotherapist to diagnose and treat properly. Until you can see a doc I would recommend not doing any heavy exercise on that leg until you can get some advice. Low-impact exercise like cycling or swimming might be a good idea, but if it hurts stop right away. Icing may help with the pain of inflamation, as may Advil/ibuprofis or other NSAID drugs to treat acute pain. Oh yeah, and don't just go out and buy a knee brace without seeing a professional. Even though that's what they may recommend as part of therepudic treatment, seeing a doc is the best solution.

Oh and just a quick follow-up question: Did your leg get sore after you stopped playing, or did you hurt your leg while you were playing? (ie. landed on your leg funny after a jump and then it started hurting)

You likely have a tear in you rmedial or lateral meniscus, which are cartilage in the knee joint that act like pillows to protect the tibula and femur from rubbing together. It's a common injury in sports that require fast movements and high impact. Ice, elevation, and rest as have been said are all good ideas to reduce swelling, but you really need to see a specialist so he can check you out. If you don't have insurance, then stop playing basketball for awhile, and avoid anything else high impact.

It was after I done playing for the day >.>

I still going for gym to workout 5-6 days a week and I had to walk to school everyday so this won't be the issue for me. But guess I should lighter the leg workout some more
