This is a great idea, Elmer. I have to second (third?) the question about how the JP community feels about non-region specific servers. I'm also excited to see what kinds of questions they have for us. This could be pretty fun.
Do they use some of the same resources that NA players use, i.e. ffxiah, the different wiki's (BG + otherwise)?
Do they think it's funny when people reference Japanese pop culture in parties, e.g. say someone/something is "HG"?
Question: How did you get your JP button for drops etc, and where can I get one? j/k
Real question: Are the GMs just as useless for JP players as they are for NA/EU players?
How do you kill AV?
Spoiler: show
The two things I'd be most interested in hearing about are 1) if any of them ever read BG or anything like that to get NA/EU reaction on things. 2) What do they think of Sage Sundi? Is he a lol-able comic doofus for them as he is for us?
If I remember correctly, the JP hate being examined because the translation receiving a check is something more "inappropriate" then just "Eanae examines you."
What do they think of GMs?
What's their opinion on WotG? Do they also feel it lacks content? Are they as opposed to the upkeep system on campaign medals as we are?
Do they believe that they are fundamentally better players than NA with a better understanding of the game?
Do the Japanese have a large end game community forum similar to the NA's having BG?
Who are their trendsetters? Do a lot of JPs read Kaeko's or Rukenshin's livejournals?
Sort of an amalgam of some of the other suggestions, what is the general take on SE's handling of FFXI on the whole? Is it similar to the NA notion that SE is generally not in touch with the playerbase to the same degree as other companies with similar games? It seems like, to a degree, that there's a little more interaction with the devs on the JP side...and perhaps fewer expectations of what an MMO publisher "should" do. Could also just be different preferences on the directions the game should take.
Still, would be interesting to see if the JP think that SE is doing a bang up job, or if their views line up more with those of most NA/EU players.
'Have you ever come to an English-language site looking for information which is missing from Japanese-language sites? Have you ever gotten information from the bluegartr boards?'
blue or purple? j/k
While your playing is there anything you do on the side like play a handheld or watch tv?
If you play on PC do you use mouse/keyboard or controller/keyboard?
Do you listen to in game music; if no what do you listen to?
Whats your opinion on the WotG expansion so far?
I don't have a decent question to contribute, but just wanted to say this is a really cool idea, Elmer.
Question: WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK WE ARE!?
Serious question: Most NA players don't give a flipping flapjack about pvp in FFXI. Are you satisfied with the state of pvp in FFXI (Ballista)? Or basically, just indifferent.
Given how quickly after Salvage appeared on the scene we saw JP's running around in upgraded gear, I'd like to know how far along they are on Mythic Weapons.
This may be a server-specific question, but on Phoenix the trend seems to be linkshells based around events. One LS for Einherjar, one for Dynamis, one for Limbus or Salvage, etc. Do JP players prefer player groupings based on content or do they prefer one group for all events?
What do JP players think of sites like ffxiah.com and the value it brings in the form of tracked data? Do they have any equivalent sites? Given that mobile connectivity is so ubiquitous in the culture, do JP players have means to access their FFXI content on-the-go?
Lastly, PS2 wtf?
Blue/Purple would actually be hilarious.
1). You're an idiot"Do people in your community RMT, or is it something thats never been exposed/admited"
2). Yes, they RMT, and it is well-known
