I don't mind SE trying to make a quick buck with these merchandise, even bordering on "RMT-like" tactics by enticing people to buy it with in game items, but at least keep the price reasonable.

$50 for that shitty talisman? No wonder they're getting ridiculed. Maybe if it was $15-20 more people would buy it and even I'd consider it. Not like it cost them more than $1 to order it in bulk and made from some factory in rural China. The in game item didn't take more than a day to program in either.

As for the shadow lord statue... for that price I'd rather get

While I am a pretty obsessive collector...silver plated metal on the talisman for the price isn't worth it to me. It's a neat design yes, and the item, while gimmicky, is kinda cool, but too much for silver plate that'll likely flake before long.

My sandy ring which is sterling silver was, and the elvaan on the chocobo...gods yes (almost my character model too). Shadowlord would be a pass, as while it's comparable to the choco statue, doesn't have the panache to it IMO.

Its not like everyone could of afforded 80$ for a fanfest ticket then about $500 more for plane tickets another $300 for hotel.

Maybe because you're not paying for the moogle cap? You're going to Fanfest to be at the festival; the code is a BONUS.

I can't help but laugh at all the people QQing about the prices on this stuff or that the recast is too long on these items. THE IN GAME ITEMS ARE BONUSES not the reason for the purchase itself. I went to both Fanfests to hang out with friends and try out the new expansion packs, I bought the piano collections CD because I like the music, and I bought the Tidal Pendant because I'm a FF merchandise whore; the in game content is a cool bonus but not the reason for the purchase.

seeing the image at the top of page 2 I wasn't sure about. Mainly because i thought the purple light shining on him was part of the paint job. After seeing the image halfway down page 2 though, I'm definitely interested in buying the shadowlord sculpture.

I think collectible figurines are not the same as collectible sculptures. Collectible sculpture tends to have much more attention to detail, texture, and gesture in the work. The sculpting and the color job done on it must be masterful. about 8 years ago I bought this amazing sculpture of storm(x-men) for 350, just had to have it. Now I like storm more than the shadowlord, but i still think those not involved in collecting are over reacting to the price. The collectible sculptures like that are not made enough of so that everyone can buy one, and due to the method and the amount the artist charges for the design, 200-250 is about right for that piece. It looks amazing to me and like was said earlier would look great in my cubicle at work.

The price for the Shadowlord is about right. Most sculptures of that quality costs that much. Wouldn't buy it though since I don't really care for Shadowlord. I would be extremely tempted if it was a custom 9" model of your character... though that would probably cost 6-700usd.

Well, checking the WoW Custom 3d Shop listing, it costs $199 for a 4" model. 9.5" would probably be up to $350 already, but their quality isn't really on par with the Shadowlord. If it was the same quality $700 would be a decent price.

For disposable income, the Talisman is one of those "Lol I got it so I can giggle when I use it for random purposes / tricking warping people". The recast that they hid until the first batch of people ordered it was not cool.

I agree. Personally I'm hoping for the rare chance they'll adjust it and give it a lower recast now that people are canceling their orders because of it.

Edit: In fact, I'm going to fill out a suggestion form with it.

Many players preordered the "Tidal Talisman" item when it was first announced before the in-game item description was fully known due to the limited availability of said item. Now that the complete in-game details have been released, many players are disappointed and have cancelled their orders.

Could you please consider adjusting the wait time between uses to make it more useful? Something similar to "Tavnazian Ring" & "Olduum Ring" would be great since the effect is similar to those two items.
