you will get the summon gems from doing storyline maps, some are blocked by yellow squares which means you need to need to redo the story again after completing it with 2(or 3) stars, when you equip them they have 3 bars, which i think is how often you can use them, after use they will deplete their bars and not be usable for some time, the auto ones will use themself(obviously) and the other ones you summon by pressing R + O (i think)

Regarding the game, how do I unlock the summons, or are they lvl restricted? I just picked up the game again and lvl Terra to 60ish.

The only thing besides this that I have noticed are that auto summons are sitting out in plain sight during storyline missions, and the non-auto ones are usually behind barriers (these are opened when you complete the story at least once and come back to the story again) and at least one or two are obtained from Destiny Point rewards.

regarding summons, you just pick up red crystals on the game board then go to the 4th option in your menu and equip them

Apparently I did something that made the CPU take control of the EX mode. Which is just killing me. How do I fix this?

If you happen to do it again, it was most likely the Auto EX Command ability listed on this page: Abilities - Dissidia Wiki - Dissipedia

Even if you don't know Japanese, you can match up the characters from there to the game to see what each one does.

OK, if you're taking an anime seriously, I guess I can understand not wanting to be able to recognize the crappiness of the actors and translation... but Pokemon? Do you have to watch retarded Pokemon in its original language?

Anyone know how to make new trade items appear in the shop? I've gotten a Holy Rod for my Terra now, wanting to turn it into a Stardust Rod but even though I have the items I need to do the trade it still wont appear in the shop. Holy Rod wasn't there either, but by the time I farmed up all the damn Holy Stones it had finally shown up.

Also Firion is God tier, hated him at first but once I got a little better at guarding he's a machine now. Need to play more melee characters, finding Terra so much more boring to play after leveling Firion and OK a bit (which are more hybrid characters funnily enough).

I think items wont show up in shops until you have at least 2/3 of the materials. Thats the way it always seemed to be for me. Right now I have a maxed shantoto (well almost, I just need ++concentration capped and a super ribbon), and all the Battle Rises. Which took FOREVER btw. >.>; I don't recommend that to anyone.

Well the Stardust Rod was there when I turned on the game today, very strange. I think I have 74% of the Battle Rises without attempting to actually get any of them on purpose, with a bunch of 20% ones still to get, some of the ridiculously low % ones are gonna be so annoying though. Thankfully I only have one 0.8% chance one that requires EX Bursting the enemy, the rest are all just breaking them, which is easy (Meteor spam on Terra is ever so broken). The Missions seem like they're gonna take forever though, whilst I haven't actually looked through them and attempted them yet, I've only managed to do 44% of them just by playing through regularly. Other than that, I own 76% of the Shop (and I have almost 700k Gil, so I can pretty much afford everything else, it's just a case of farming up items for trades) and 88% of the PP Catalog (24 things left, all the Gil levels in calender and 15 more sets of Icons). Gonna be fun redoing all of this in the English version, although apparently some people are actually working on a translation patch.

He can be a total bitch depending on what character you are and your level to his. If you're higher level than him you should have no problem beating him, just wait until your Brave is enough to one shot him otherwise he's almost guaranteed to break you after you hit him with a HP attack. He absolutely demolished me when I used anyone but Terra or Firion in equal level or him being higher at first. But after fighting him a shedload in Versus mode I got alot better at defending against him, though he still kicks my ass 9 times out of 10 with melee characters. Best strategy I've found is staying as far back as possible and waiting for him to give you an opportunity to attack with a ranged attack. He's a joke with Firion only using his Axe throw attack and followup Brave/HP attack.

If you're doing the fight in story mode I don't think you can unlock him in Vs yet, but if not I'd just suggest fighting him repeatedly in it and practicing dodging and guarding. He seems to favour that 360 attack thing which you just guard 3x and that HP attack where he surrounds you in pillars of fire, which once you get the timing down is easy to dodge and leaves him open for a second.

Watch what he does, like most of the AI he won't really do HP attacks until he breaks you or gets a lot of Brave.

Brave moves:
Slashing on ground: This shit is super easy to avoid, but on v3 he shoots fire too
Fire wave: Easy to avoid
Smashing down in the air: This can get you off guard but still easy to dodge
Spinning in the air: This one gets me the most, but a good tell is if he suddenly flies in the air near you, dodge up/down to avoid (so you avoid the smash move in case it's that, as well)

Hp moves:
Way too many. The fire breath one is hard to avoid unless he's really high/low. The one where he surrounds you in swords then slices down used to annoy me really bad, but it IS dodgable. You have to dodge at the last possible second then he stays still and when you're free you get a free shot at him.

Also don't take too long to kill him on the 3rd form. One of his moves causes him to go giant and throw his swords at the arena. Shit hurts.

If you can see it coming, don't dodge, guard this. It'll stop his attack and leave him open (with a much higher chance of crits like any other guarded attack).

I assume you mean the fireballs, in which case just guard these too, since it'll reflect them back at him, just watch that he doesn't guard them again himself.

Smashing down in the air: This can get you off guard but still easy to dodge

I find it easier to guard this than dodge personally, but it leaves you stunned for a second, he wont hit you during this but it's better to dodge if you can, as you can usually get a hit off on him if you're fast enough.

Spinning in the air: This one gets me the most, but a good tell is if he suddenly flies in the air near you, dodge up/down to avoid (so you avoid the smash move in case it's that, as well)

If you can see it coming don't dodge this, hit guard 3 times with a tiny bit of delay between them(don't mash it or you'll usually be locked in guard position after his last hit) and then attack him whilst he recovers for extra crits.

You should never even let him use this move, he takes ages to charge it and he's completely open whilst doing so, either use some form of ranged attack or Air Dash at him and smack him with your best aerial brave.

Haven't played in a while, but if this is the move I'm thinking of I thought he surrounded you in pillars of flames and then threw a sword or fireball down, regardless, if it is this attack just wait for the last flame to dissapear then immediately dodge out the way. Takes some practice getting the timing down, but once you do you can avoid it 95% of the time and it leaves him completely open to ranged attacks

As long as you're not playing as one of the really slow characters it's fairly easy to avoid that. He'll do a bunch of weak brave attacks that are a pain to avoid, but you won't take much from them. Then once he throws the swords into the side of the arena you'll see 4 big red circles appear on the ground. Simply run wherever there's no red and you wont get hit. Almost every character can make it out of the way assuming you can react fast enough to run in the right direction, but the slow characters are shit outta luck.

Also remember that the EX core will always appear at the throne, so try and keep control of that bit of the arena and remember that going into EX mode will automatically guardbreak stuff (so even if you're in the middle of his spin attack you can go into EX mode and you'll break out and autoguard it for a second or so).
