Both Paladin and Dark Knight? Someone definately called that.
Also, his Paladin isn't as terrible as I thought it would have been, and Dark Knight does look pretty bad. -_-

Paladin armor looks just like it does in FFIVDS, although his Dark Knight armor is certainly less purple.
Cecil Harvey...
prettier than Sephiroth, but actually has reasons to be emo (at least half of the time)
And is it just me, or is he carrying Kain's lance (FFIV logo rendition)?
Kain's Lance? I don't know, but its definately not a sword. I think you might be right about Kain's Lance.
Fuuuck, this game makes me want to buy a PSP now.
Very, very sorry for the necrobumping! I've been lazy about updating this but there's a lot a new stuff!

Butz and Exdeath plus a first glance at the Goddess Cosmos

The Goddess Cosmos more clearly seen. I wonder if Altana in FFXI will look like that? They seem to share a few similarities in a way.

Summons! And alternate costumes (Squall as an example here)

-They appear only as "assists", not actually doing any fancy attacks but rather passively affect the battle when summoned (So I believe).
- Carbuncle takes your opponents brave and makes it the same value as your own.
- Ifrit gives your brave a giant boost.
Kefka... and Terra! (*dies from joy*)

ffxi villains: Shantoto and Naja Salaheem
Everything I see about this game makes me want it more and more, it better not suck.![]()
The Tokyo Game Show secret trailer was released a few days ago:
Gametrailers.com - Dissidia: Final Fantasy - TGS 2008: Trailer
Sweetness.
Nice trailer but it seems they're trying too hard with Cloud/Seph and using them as magnets to get people to buy this game.
Really? I felt as if every series got pretty equal-ish coverage.
Although Cloud and Sephiroth was pretty much inevitable for the FF7 roster, I don't really feel like they gave them "special" treatment because of their popularity. Everyone seems to be equally represented without one overshadowing the other by too much.
That's just what I believe I mean!
Random FF5 stuff I noticed:
- Butz uses Cloud's Buster Sword and Squall's Gun Blade dual wielded?!
- His EX Mode gives him those little stars that appear over your character's head in FF5 when you master a job. Plus, I think all those weapons he summons during his EX are from all the heroes...
cannot wait for this game
Yeh I noticed the dual-wield thing. Haha there will be an uproar of Dual Wield sword users on FFXI (again) when game gets released (just like Advent Children when Cloud wielded 2 swords and then /NIN was all the rage for a while with 2 swords...)
As for the special treatment, I dunno, the way they show it on the footage just seems so "entirely dependant" on those 2 (up to a point) for those 2. It doesn't bother me but I just get that feeling. Looking forward to it either way, I wonder if there are any secret characters they might have fed in there, in the Super Smash Bros way (i.e. Mario/Dr. Mario, plays more or less the same, in this game it would be Cloud/Zack ... Tina/Celes...Squall/Seifer)...
Spoiler: show

Wow. Thanks a lot Kiarax for those scans + those great mini descriptions of the characters~
This game is going to be so damn unbalanced, but I like the concepts.
Depends really, all we have to go on is tiny bits of gameplay videos and some poor translations for the skills. Some of them do sound a bitbut for all we know they wont be stupid strong in the actual game, at the moment though the villains all sound way stronger than most of the heroes.
Is there a release date yet? Even for Japan?
Last I heard it was December 18th, no English release date afaik though.
