at the moment though the villains all sound way stronger than most of the heroes.

Isn't that what makes things fun normally? The underdog winning a fight against someone much stronger. Though, conceptually anything can be strong, but that's what balancing is for.

It's weird that they picked Jecht, because in the end he wasn't a bad guy... yet in the dissidia story he's shown together with all the other villains... it would've been better if they picked Seymour.

Think I read some interview somewhere (sorry for the vagueness, it was a while ago) that said they agreed that Seymour was more of a villian than Jecht. However, they said that if they included Seymour they felt the need to include Yuna as well, which wasn't an option, so they picked Jecht.

I understand their thought process for picking Jecht, but he still doesn't fit with all those other villains because technically he isn't one. Seeing him in that scene with Cloud of Darkness, Ultimecia, Kefka, etc. just made me cringe.

Well, Jecht is pretty much the best thing for a final boss in FFX. Yu Yevon certainly doesn't count and while Seymour is a good choice, he pretty much was pawn at the end of the day. He wasn't even close to being a final stepping stone to victory, he was the stepping stone to getting into the fucking final dungeon (iirc). Jecht, while not a common villian, is certainly an antagonist and you fight him all the same.

So, Jecht was probably the better choice. Hey, not all of the villains need to be psycho end of the world type guys do they?

Yea, Tidus-Jetch is more appropriate. Besides, nobody said he had a "bad guy" demeanor in game.

It's not the "evil" side, just the primary villain from throughout the game. Besides, if we were following your logic they'd have to replace Golbez, since he really wasn't evil either and ends up helping you defeat Zemus/Zeromus. Regardless, he's a much better fitting character than Seymour and he's actually cool as opposed to Seymour, God I hated that guy.

I dunno, I think Vayne was still a psychopath, considering a lot of the shit he did was totally unnecessary to achieve the ends he wanted. 'Course he was a shitty character either way, since he was like the other characters; a flat, uninteresting stereotype.

Neither. Vayne wasn't a FF villain stereotype, but he was a villain stereotype; while his plans were convoluted and Machiavellian (mostly what makes him a stereotype), they weren't interesting or particularly original. I have no comments on Kefka, since I haven't finished FFVI.
