    2s Teams

Looked around didn't see much on this, so I figured I'd ask!

Does anyone have any good combinations of characters for 2v2s? Dicking around with my friends a lot the Pikachu+Falco (even really nooby people) do real well, aside from that the only other combo I've really liked is Marth+Ike.

Just wondering if anyone has good combinations of people or person-person combos besides the obvious grab->smash tactic assuming team attack is off.

My friend plays a mean Dorf, and we can do banana locks.

Ganondorf >B, enemy falls. I throw a banana and the person instantly trips, which allows Ganondorf to >B again. Rinse and repeat. Uh, outside the unconventional uses, I like Marth/Diddy. Marth's glide toss rapes, and has a real easy time getting around nanners. I'm also partial to any character that can KO easily/Diddy. D.K and Diddy is a KILLER team, I LOVVEEEE having a good D.K on my side. As far as Ike? Marth&Ike ftfw

My friend and I usually play teams against level 9 cpu's on random and a good combo we have found is PT and Oldondorf. Lock the enemy in Bullet Seed with Ivysaur and have Oldondorf follow with his version of the Falcon Punch. Same concept again except substitue Bullet Seed with Charizard's Flamethrower.

    Snake + Meta = Game.

    GW + Zamus = Game.

I was gonna say game and watch and ZSS but tsutsumiko had to be a prick and talk to the exact same person I was talking to about it

Kirby/Snake is pretty rough too but meta is just too pro.

I'd say the ZSS and GW team is too pro. It's actually too broken. And requires relatively little skill/teamwork where as Metaknight + Snake requires precision timing and effort to make their uber deadly combos work.

Tell M2K to get at ZSS for doubles. Fkn Snakee and Velocity both team up with meta knights.

I can't seem to find any, sorry.

I'll try looking, or if/when I get a video capture card, I'll upload a vid and show you why it's broken.

@Ryko: Ryoko also plays ZSS and is often M2K's doubles partner at any event they go to together.

Middle of September I'm going to a 2v2 tourny with a friend but been trying to figure out the best combination using characters "we use."

He is a beast with Wario as his main and his 2nd is Peach so likely he'll use Wario mostly.

Some of you noticed I use several characters which makes it harder to figure out a good partner to use with Wario. I'm aware that certain matchups call for different characters to be used but would be a nice idea to have two characters in mind at least.

Ganondorf, for some reason, most often than not has worked out as a teammate from what I have experienced but I can see situations where this will not be the case (i.e. Meta Knight mostly). From some testing a few days ago I noticed that my Ness may also work in the cases where Ganondorf can not cover (final alternative was to use my Wario as well for whatever reason).

This is my first 2vs2 tourny so any additional feedback would be good knowledge XD

Umm I have no experience playing as any of the characters you listed so I can't really help you out there.

I can tell you from experience with my roommate (a Wario main) that Snake is a good pick as his teammate. Wario is a good gimp character but seems to lack a good KO ability. Someone with a strong KO ability that isn't a sitting duck is probably advised.

From you picks, Ganon seems the best but if he's not cutting it, try picking up someone who has good KO potential such as Donkey Kong, Dedede, Snake, Marth, etc.

    Thx for the advice!

Similar to Melee, I tried to avoid characters to main in tournies that will just be clone fests and may do the same here (meaning, Snake/Meta Knight will likely not be my choice outside of friendlies just to get a feel of the character so I have a better understanding on how to beat them).

Of course, team matches may be different entirely and have more diversity. Perhaps King Dedede as an alternate heavy character but I haven't had much practice with him in Teams yet (or against Snake/Meta Knights whom I like to use Ness against).

I need to get back to practicing this...jeez. I want to get better, having problems finding local players around Indy.

From what I can remember, my online friend and I seem to have a weird working Olimar/Ness thing going. It's kinda hard to tell how it'd work without the online latency lag being there, but it seems to work out. I LOVE it when either I land a grab and he Fsmashes or he grabs and I Fsmash, totally retarded damage, he also has a better Air game them me while I tend to own the ground more (and throwing/hiting them them into a charged PKflash is just wrong) In local, my friend has and probably will continue to be a Samus player, who I really like comboing with Lucario or Pikachu (though I haven't used Pikachu much in Brawl). I'm kinda starting to warm up to Metaknight too, my GF likes to team up Toon Link with him and we are seeing how that is going.

Anyone else use Olimar/Lucario/MK much? I am wondering who you've found to be best in terms of a teamate (Diddy goes well with ANYONE imo, Banana spam but anyone else)?

On Olimar + Ness: This is actually a solid team now that I think about it. Ness is a good aerial character, while Olimar dominates on ground just about as good if not better than anyone else (sans Meta and maybe Snake).

The only problem is both characters are light and easily gimped so... if you can kinda find a way around the weaknesses, I think you may be on to something here.

On Lucario: I'm starting to learn him and Metaknight (Meta mostly because I need to know him in and out for tournaments so I know what to expect). Lucario is a pretty versatile pick. I don't really care who my teammate is because Luc himself is almost a one man army. Good at all ranges. Great in the air. Good ground game. Gets stronger when you're down and out. He's amazing with practice and good spacing. Just watch any of Azen's vids and you can clearly see he carries himself VERY WELL. If I had to suggest a teammate, another Lucario XD
