There's also an ancient San d'Orian legend about their ancient relics given to them by the gods, or something. It mentions two, one is obviously Lightbringer, but what about the other? Maybe it was the 5th Verse? If it weren't for the fact that Aldo's sister, Emelyn was living in Tavnazia, would the beastmen have sieged it?...

Isn't the second the Star of Tavnazia?

Also, I thought Raogrimm got his power from tapping into the Crystal Line. Though I suppose Odin could've facilitated that.

I wish they'd just let npcs wear any of the head pieces regardless of what model they are. Should be able to buy them with fellow points.

    Spoiler: show
The Star of Tavnazia was created when Esha'ntarl tried to banish the Emptiness from Prishe with the Eye of Altana.

Raogrimm heard the voice when he came in contact with the Crystal Line, then he took the Eye of Tavnazia and followed the voice from the Magicite to the Protocrystal of Darkenss in Bearclaw Pinnacle where he struck the deal and got the Kindred army. When he made contact with the Crystal Line, that is what awoke the slumbering Zilart in Delkfutt's Tower.

The other was the Gordius and it was sent to Aht Urghan for research. Anyone familiar with the story of the Gordion Knot? I forgot the details but basically Alexander the Great was presented with a knot that was so tight nobody in the land could untie it. Being wise and clever, Alexander the Great unsheathed his sword and simply cut the knot open with his sword.

Hmmm... 2 artifacts a Lightbringer sword that's considered Holy, and a weird ball shaped mysterious object called a Gordius...and a light based holy avatar named Alexander....

    Holy Sword Lightbringer=Sword of Alexander
    Gordius=Gordion Knot
Alexander the Holy Avatar=Alexander the Great
    Lightbringer+Gordius=Profit?

The Gordius has always been in Aht Urhgan, what the fuck are you talking about? It's been an Imperial Relic for at least 900 years, that's longer than Elvaans have even been in Quon.
    Spoiler: show
The Gordius is the control device for the Iron Colossus, Alzadaal Ruins, Alexander's physical form on Vana'diel. The last time it was used was around 900 years ago when it clashed with Odin and left a massive storm in its wake, that marked the begining of the Crystal Era.
....and what the fuck makes you think Elvaans would give anything to anyone else?

Went from speculative to asinine in 2 seconds flat.

The Gordius has always been in Aht Urhgan, what the fuck are you talking about? It's been an Imperial Relic for at least 900 years, that's longer than Elvaans have even been in Quon.

    Spoiler: show
The San d'Orian mission storyline follows the pursuit of Lightbringer, a legendary sword that Ranperre D'Oraguille used to "tame the beasts that wreaked havok" - an alternate to this storyline explains how the Elvaan tribes were freed from Tarutaru subjugation on Quon by discovering TWO artifacts, one held by Ranperre, the other by the founding father of Tavnazia. Focusing on Lightbringer for now, its physical appearance resembles a halfbreed of metallic workmanship similar to the ruins of Alzadaal (look at the hilt) and some sophisticated technological blade. When unsheathed, it will "absorb energy from its surrounding environment and transform it into a force more powerful than any other." When unsheathed, the holder describes a feeling as if all other life is insignificant (Rochefogue) and as if they were a god (Trion). The pollen from a Dream Rose can subdue the sword's power for a short time.

Secondly, Tavnazia and Aht Urghan have had a long standing relationship, up to the point when Tavnazia was destroyed by the unsheathing of Lightbringer; after which the ambassador from Tavnazia residing in Aht Urghan was promptly kicked out. From this point on, up to the point where the San d'Oria missions begin, Lightbringer is lost. The location of the other artifact is never revealed.

Now for the speculation: The second artifact is the Gordeus, relinquished by Tavnazia to Aht Urghan for study. Sage Walahra studies it, and discovers its true importance, but the Crystal War and the conflict with the Far East prevents any action to be taken. I speculate that Lightbringer is actually the master control "animator" for Alexander, and that Emperor Alzadaal actually wielded it to this purpose waaaaay back in the day. Unsheathing Lightbringer causes a part of Alexander to awaken and causes the destructive force; while the Dream Rose forces Alexander back to slumber. Lastly, there is a definite connection between Lightbringer and mechanical beings; as the Orcs desired to merge Lightbringer with a warmachine to make a more powerful weapon.

The Gordeus and Lightbringer both have been spoken of as being a key to unlocking the origins of all beings, so they are probably connected in some fashion - perhaps all of the problems in Aht Urghan will end once Lightbringer is used to pierce the Gordius.

    Your speculation is seriously flawed.
    Spoiler: show
The sage wasn't alive in this life time, the Gordius has obviously never left the East, each side had their own people to research such things (meaning they didn't need any outside help), Lightbringer's design is more akin to Zilartan tech than Olduum, and the Orcs would probably slap a pickle to a warmachine if they thought it would get them more power, but that doesn't mean they'd know exactly how to use it (that, and Orcish Warmachines are essentially Wood and Rope).

But I'll bite...How could a relic that was used 190 years before Elvaans even stepped foot onto Quon, and 385 years before the Kingdom of San d'Oria was even established, a relic held by one of the largest, longest running, and continuously powerful nations on the planet, somehow make it to San d'Orian hands? IIrc, both relics were found IN Quon, and since the pieces of Alzadaal never left the Silver Sea, how could they have been found on Quon and not Mindartia? That's assuming the Gordius was even inside Alzadaal, we saw it could be used outside the structure. The missteps in logic are many and it all assumes far too much to be reasonable. You don't know what you're talking about.

Yeah, same here. I'm hoping the update is on the 8th.

Hopefully Megaman 9 is released on the same day as the update.

Once more, I will take a filler update note over no update note. At least with a filler update note we know that they are trying.

This late in the cycle, I doubt we'll get filler. It's possible we'll get nothing until Friday, like we did before.

One never knows, do one? Never knows....

Still got til 8-10th, I say. So they could give us something today or tomorrow, then something on Thur-Friday, something on on Sunday then update!

Actually, now that I think about it, it'll be on the 8th. Just to fuck with my Limbus schedule like it always does.
