There are very few people who are actually anti-earmark. I'm proud to have one of them (Feingold) as my representative, and I think the anti-earmark claims of shitty opportunistic politicans like Palin who are OK with earmarks as long as THEY get the money really devalue the efforts of people who are actually trying to stop or slow wasteful spending.

Earmarks are a red herring, 1% of the budget ffs.

also I think the point about other female republicans is that they are more qualified/less fucking retarded, not that they're ideologically opposed to the base or mccain.

but i'd say a good chunk of the republican base are those "fucking retarded."
This really isn't a "wtf" move and I don't understand why you all are treating it that way

"House appropriations committee provided its own numbers, which claim $17 billion worth of earmarks for 2006."

If it's 1%, it's still quite a bit of money.

Demos, question, at some points you like to say how you think both parties fail, and at others you seem to express a desire for defending the, clearly more prone to lying Republican party. Can you say why?

Clearly he doesn't agree that the republicans are more prone to lying.

But you don't have to throw out as many 'lying' charges when you're in front in polls, which is probably why there are more reports of Obama strategists/supporters calling Republicans liars than the other way around. Republicans can save theirs up for when Obama begins to catch up in the numbers. I think this is the most likely source of the disparity.

because this is clearly a liberal board and there are things I don't agree with?
Devil's advocate, though as leading as it sounds, is not advocating republicans

The lady at the John McCain table I was talking to on Thursday kept calling me a liberal, so I don't think I count

You're a social liberal but your interests lie in fiscal conservatism. You care more about that fiscal conservatism.
Or at least that's how I view you.

He's actually a member of the insignificant minority that not only supports their ideals that lie outside of the 2 party platforms, but will actually use (and you can call me a cynic but if he were in a swing state, waste) his vote on them instead of go with what has become the favored American tradition of choosing the lesser of two evils. Just like the real presidential debates though, technically we can all just ignore him/them.

Because anyone who doesn't agree with a given republican's view 150% is a liberal.
