This is the biggest fail in the history of anonymous. Ever.

They hack into possibly the most sought-after email account in America at the moment, take some worthless screenshots of her inbox, and a couple worthless emails, obtain nothing of value whatsoever, and then change her password.

I'm aghast at the abject fail of this all.

Here's the summary off the Wikileaks page, the first line is hilarious:

Circa midnight Tuesday the 16th of September (EST) activists loosely affiliated with the group 'anonymous' gained access to U.S. Republican Party Vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin's Yahoo email account [email protected] and passed information to Wikileaks. Governor Palin has come under criticism for using private email accounts to conduct government business and in the process avoid transparency laws. The zip archive made available by Wikileaks contains screen shots of Palin's inbox, two example emails, address book and a couple of family photos. The list of correspondence, together with the account name tends to re-enforce the criticism.

The list of emails include an exchange with Alaskan Lieutenant Governor Sean Parnell about his campaign for Congress.

Another screenshot shows Palin's inbox and an e-mail from Amy McCorkell, whom Palin appointed to the Governor's Advisory Board on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse in 2007.

The e-mail, a message of support to Palin, tells her not to let negative press get to her and asks Palin to pray for McCorkell, who writes that "I need strength to 1. keep employment, 2. not have to choose."

According to Kim Zetter of Wired Magazine, McCorkell confirmed that she did send the e-mail to Palin.

Following the release of this story, both Sarah Palin's better known account [email protected] and the [email protected] account have been suspended or deleted as revealed by a test email sent to these addresses by Wikileaks. Although the reasons for the deletion of both accounts can not not yet be established, one interpretation is that Palin is trying to destroy her email records.

Wikileaks may release additional emails should they prove be of political substance.

tl;dr there isn't much that's bad, at least revealed so far.

So much for the "women are going to flock" idea; granted only people in denial would have thought it would happen, politically it was the dumbest move in history. The GOP honestly thought it would be able to bring the women vote just because they placed a cungina on the ticket.

What astonished me the most is that a lot of the pundits were actually convinced about it and kept pointing at the polls in the summer. Seriously funny stuff in my opinion, God I love politics, everyones so sneaky!

Also as a side not before the hacking of the account she was asked to release 1000 emails. but she refused claiming executive privilege. the deleting of the account may have more promising repercussions.

To be "caught" in a nationally important sense requires video or verifiable text, not heresay. Not that I'm saying that report is wrong, but it won't matter if it's not backed by evidence. This could've been that chance.
