I could. or I could just pull a demos and stick with my claim and we can argue back and forth for a few pages on why I don't need to back it up. Because quite frankly everytime you, Churchy and Demos open your mouths it becomes abundantly clear on who you really are rooting for.

I personally think you are seeing things. They aren't rooting for McCain just as much as they aren't rooting for Obama. Not that I like what they are actually doing either; not being able to pick the lesser of two evils is way too idealistic for me.

Maybe I am. But I personally find it hard to believe that people do not have a second favorite candidate. Stick with your principles fine believe that your 3rd party candidate would be the best to run the country thats reasonable as well. But what it boils down to is this, the majority of Libertarians and Ron Paul supporters know damn well their respective candidate have little to no shot of winning and only vote for that candidate out of principle and to send a message which is admirable.

In other words as unfortunate as it may be it would be like me rooting and cheering for the the cubs to win during a Bosox-Yankee game.

anyway goodnight guys off to bed

It's important for a troll to at least claim to vote third party, because if you vote for one of the candidates that might actually win, you may end up in a position where you'd have to defend your choice later after they do something monumentally stupid, which virtually every politician does eventually. As long as Ron Paul and Bob Barr stand no actual chance of being elected, their supporters are safe from that.

I've made it clear time and again that I hope Obama beats McCain because I think he would be better for the country.

Out of curiosity, if you were in a swing state, would you consider voting for him?

edit: I'd have said the same thing if you said you liked McCain better than Obama. I'm just trying to gauge your devotion to the cause!

No, I wouldn't have. Interestingly enough though, I think that supporting Barr can do as much good to help Obama win as voting for Obama.

Assuming you are the atypical Barr supporter, you are right in sense. Well, in the aggregate at least, if the majority of Barr supporters would be Republican supporters if it weren't for McCain. That's kinda like a half-vote for Obama. But that's in the aggregate.

On the individual level, a vote for Barr won't do as much good for Obama as a vote for Obama if you actually think he is better than McCain. Because if you voted like a true cynic like the majority of us, you would probably be voting for Obama. I know you just said it as an interesting point and not as a part of your reasoning, but you voting for Barr is not in the least a vote of confidence for Obama when you actually think he's better than McCain. It just means you are idealistic enough to think the system can change or you prioritize your 'integrity' over the power of your vote.

But in the end I guess I can't really be angry at third-party supporters for hoping the system can change and at the same time hope that they themselves can change.

wah wah someone defends somebody occasionally. I'm not a liberal. This board is. Since your brain only works 2 ways it seems (repub-dem) you think I have to be one or the other. You are the real copout here. Because instead of fighting what you really believe in you compromise your beliefs and vote for shit like Obama and others McCain. More than likely I'm wrong and your beliefs just change with the democratic party though. I'd consider myself a conservative independent. Conservative means I agree with the republicans on some things /shock.

It's funny you think I seem to wear McCain briefs. I'm a pretty big sap and do those online questionnaires which gives you the candidate you are best aligned with. I've yet to get McCain lol.

Throw your neocon word around all you want but you are ridiculously out of touch with reality if you find church, myself, and a few others on here neocons.
And I accept the fact for the most part, I'm a joke to you guys - hell I'm fine with that as I'm still learning a lot of things and still trying to figure some things out. I just hope you are ok with knowing you are just as big a joke as I am. You have said some outrageously stupid things on here before. Beckwin and Kuya and Geno (my personal fav poster) have well thought out arguments the majority of the time (though Beck likes to troll a lot lol) unlike yourself.

In short, eat your cake, look in the damn mirror, and expand your mind a little bit politically. Just like bush was wrong with his for/against comment, I think it's fair to say you are wrong with it as well.

Deal reached on financial markets bailout

    http://www.kgan.com/template/inews_w...kgan.com.shtml

WASHINGTON (AP) -- After days of negotiations over the massive 700-billion-dollar Wall Street bailout, Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson is saying, "I think we're there."

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says the tentative deal between lawmakers and the Bush administration still needs to be put down on paper.

Much of the deal is similar to what President Bush proposed a week ago. But Democrats insisted on and won greater congressional oversight, more taxpayer protections, help for homeowners facing possible foreclosure, and restrictions on executives' compensation.

House Republicans also won out on their demands that some money go to a program encouraging holders of some bad mortgage-backed securities to keep them and buy government insurance to cover defaults, despite the Treasury Department's objections.

The money will be phased in, with the first 350 billion available as soon as Bush requests it.

Congressional leaders hope to have the House vote on the measure Monday. A Senate vote would come later.

    Need a tissue?

    just lol.

independent? are you fucking kidding me? I believe that as much as I believe Bill O'Reilly and all those talking heads on fox or even those on the left on MSNBC are Independent. When someone is attacked based on some of the fail policies they agreed with before they disagreed they throw the Independent card at you like its some fucking bullet-proof fucking vest or get out of jail free card as someone stated earlier. it's Just Bullshit. At least with the other 3rd party advocates they remained constant in their support they didn't jump the bandwagon when it became uncool to back Bush and now with McCain. And your only defense is "I took an Online Questionare".

    just lol

Edit: Yeah, I'm done with the name calling really hate being that guy that name calls on internet forums. anyway off to bed.

God SNL needs to get Tina Fey back every week. I hope Palin gives her plenty of content to work with at the VP debate, just so I can see how they handle it lol.

Honestly they could've just had Fey and Poehler read a transcript of the interview in-character and had it be just as funny.

I think Amy Poehler did a damn good job on Katie Couric too, especially considering she had to do it with a straight face next to Tina Fey lol.

alot of it was directly from the transcript which is a scary scary thing.

The debate sketch was pretty funny too despite the fact that Fred Armisen is a terrible obama.

    rly?
I'm really unaware of all the republicans that are pro gay-marriage, pro-choice, for the legalization of soft drugs, etc. Not to mention vehemently against continuing the war and starting another. I'd call myself an independent first because I consider voting for everyone (omg). Order I would vote: Barr -> Obama -> McCain.

Why isn't it ok to not back a candidate immediately and wait to make a decision? So I'm suddenly not allowed to vote for a candidate because I wasn't sucking their cock 6 months ago? Jesus christ man you are ridiculous in your accusations lol.

Uncool to support Bush and McCain? If I just looked at the coolness factor, I'd back the republicans just because of the retardation I see (mainly at my uni) by "democrats." There's no way in fucking hell I'd ever want to be associated with them heh
