Thought I'd share an excerpt from one of the emails I get from a Republican "friend". I get about... a dozen of these a week from this guy, and I'd block him if it weren't for the fact that some of them are bad enough to make me chuckle. This is the original formatting, although I lowered the font from 36 point to whatever size 2 is on the boards.

According to The Book of Revelation:

The Anti-Christ will be a man, in his 40's, of MUSLIM descent, who will deceive the nations with persuasive language, and have a MASSIVE Christ-like appeal....the prophecy says that people will flock to him and he will promise false hope and world peace, and when he is in power, he will destroy everything.

I'm not sure I have to even point out the most obvious flaw here, which is that the book of Revelation can't have possibly referenced "Muslims" specifically, because their religion wasn't founded until centuries after even the latest dates for its authorship. It may have referenced "Arabs", but at the time of the writing, most "Arabs" were either Jews, Christians (a minority then, but one that grew rapidly until the birth of Islam) or followers of a more primitive polytheism that's extinct today.

This passage is preceded by a list of thirteen occasions in which MUSLIM MALES (always in red) have killed or injured US citizens. All of the perpetrators were from the Middle East, not all were Muslims or even Arabs. For example, Robert Kennedy's assassin was a Palestinian Christian. It also includes a diatribe against airport security with a claim that they aren't allowed to search or detain Muslims, but are forced to strip-search children, old women, secret service agents, airline pilots and disabled veterans.

For all the people who claim that Obama supporters are naive, mindless uninformed drones, this is the kind of shit your own side is sending out to try to discredit him. This is an order of magnitude worse than the very worst of the stuff "poor Sarah Palin" had to put up with, even considering the Bristol baby conspiracy theories. Before you rail on the other side's rank-and-file, shape up your own.

I've read the Book of Revelation, several times (different versions of the Bible.. King James, NIV, and so on - my uncle's a PhD in World Theology and a RC priest) Nowhere does it mention anything in that entire passage, except maybe that the Anti-Christ is a man (as in human being).

You should ask your twit "friend" if he's ever read the Book of Revelation. Or any book of the Bible in full for that matter.
