That doesn't ...really matter, unfortunately.
She re-interjected the folksy, which is her biggest strength. She didn't look like a bumbling moron, she dodged the questions she needed to dodge (some of these positions just aren't defensible, what do you want her to do?) got the crowd laughing a number of times, and did the McCain slight-of-hand of ignoring what Biden said and rephrasing his position as something completely different, which will resonate because Americans are fucking retarded.
Biden was a good defender and attacker, and "won", but Palin being competent is a much bigger win overall for her ticket, even losing the debate.
I know this. But let's be straight, they were going to say she "met expectations" no matter what she did. And she did absolutely terrible, and I think to the voters that matter, it will make a real difference.Biden was a good defender and attacker, and "won", but Palin being competent is a much bigger win overall for her ticket, even losing the debate.
YES, KEITH, EAT HER SOUL
yes, this should be gooooodYES, KEITH, EAT HER SOUL
Keith is like Bill but on a different channel.
How are people convinced she won, or even did well? Are they lying to themselves... I don't get it.
She met expectations that all she had to do.
You are delusional if you think she did "bad" or that Biden mopped up anything with Palin.
Much like Obama and McCain's first debate, most people thought it would be a win for Obama if he went out there and didn't do anything stupid.
He didn't... made some good points, etc etc.
Same with Palin, and to a lesser degree Biden. Both candidates couldn't really gain much, but both have track records that showed that they could've lost a lot tonight. If Palin had looked like she did with Katie Couric, it would've been awful for her. If Biden pulled another FDR on TV in Alaska gaff, he would've looked like a clown.
As it was neither one made the big gaff, or looked stupid up there. I know most of you can't see past your own bias, but Palin did ok. She did ok enough to not hurt the ticket, which considering how close the race is across the country, is not a bad thing. You'll see that reported in the major outlets tomorrow everywhere. The pundits will throw their little bits in where the can on their pet subjects, but the big by-line will be that nobody screwed up, and, "don't ya know" that Palin girl actually does have a brain in her head.
But she sounded dumb....
^
That.
Referring to BingBong.
No. Look, I hate this stupid cunt, I think it's an insulting joke she was chosen, and it pushed my respect for McCain to an all-time low.
But the Couric interviews were the worst interviews I've ever seen of a high-ranking politician. Ever. They were without equal.
She wasn't even close to that bad. She rarely got confused, her frequent dodging was much more artful, she actually had answers for some of the questions, she made the audience chuckle a few times and radiated folksy, not "i'm confused". She did much better than those interviews.
She still sucks, but don't compare the two as if they are in the same ballpark.
Oh, and let's not forget
"VICE PRESIDENT? POWER. MORE POWER. IT FUELS ME."
CNN Poll: Biden 74% *** Palin 23% *** Neither 3%
