Palin doesn't think they should give up in Michigan, and apparently didn't know that they had until she read it in the newspaper on Friday. We still don't know which newspaper, but apparently only the "Washington elite" and "media elite" know what newspapers they read, so that's excusable.
Michigan is lost. No way, no how is McCain winning here.

On top of that, I have not met but maybe 5 people here who support john mccain. Everyone around my area is big time obama supporters, and I mean that by the hundreds of signs posted down my road (for realz, hundreds, the road is covered the whole way down.) and by talking to people here.

It used to be that asking someone who they're voting for was considered taboo.

I don't tell people who I'm voting for anymore, because it wasn't more than 5 minutes ago that I heard someone say, "God, you've got to be a fucking moron to vote republican/mccain/palin/conservative/BUSH."

See? To put it out there that someone else is retarded just because they don't side up with your beliefs is ridiculous.

You don't talk like that to people, or at least, you shouldn't.

Beliefs shouldn't be substituted for logical reasoning.

I've never met a McCain supporter who can back up their claims/vote with any logic other than.... wait nvm, they can't.

There are a lot of Obama supporters who can't do the same though, fuck.

Are you ready for it? Are you spamming F5 yet?

I agree with Deejay, on the point that even obama supporters can't back it up.

You are assuming every obama supporter with a lawn sign has got it 100% right.

It's beautiful that someone can state they have an opinion about a Presidential race and instantly get crucified like they're the devil.

That's all I have to add.

I believe Barack Obama will put social moderates on the Supreme Court and therefore prevent decisions that would slap down gay rights and the right of a woman to choose. I believe McCain would do the opposite.

Good enough or am I still crazy and unable to provide intelligent reasons for my vote?

Fair enough, we agree to disagree on the issues of gay rights and abortion. That wasn't too hard was it?

I would like to add that you do know palin is a hardcore anti-abortionist, in the sense that a girl is out of luck and would have to keep her babe even if she was raped by her dad. If that's alright with you, i rest my case.

The sad truth is that a vast majority of people who are fervent supporters of one side or the other does so because they are misinformed about what the other side supports!

For example, Sarah Palin referred to Obama's tax plan probably a dozen times as a "tax increase", but the truth of the matter is that it's a lot more complicated than increase/decrease/status quo. In reality, the disparity is driven by a fundamental disagreement between the Republican and Democrat philosophies on who should bear the burden for paying for public necessities such as infrastructure, social programs, and government. But, by repeatedly repeating her soundbite in repetitive fashion, people will stop questioning the truth of the accusation and simply accept the bad summary that Sarah Palin is so willing to provide.

There are many examples of this chronic mischaracterization on both sides of the issues, mostly driven only by small differences in philosophy, and sadly, a lot of people buy into it.

This is one thing I don't understand why libs don't like McCain. You're wrong, and it's why conservatives hate him. McCain will either start off with a right-winger who will get shot down by the Dem controlled legislature and then in the interest of "unity" and "bi-partisanship" will nominate a left winger, or just nominate a left winger to start off with. Either way you'll get what you want. There's plenty of other examples like this to.

I think when Palin says Obama would raise taxes, she is talking about letting the Bush tax cuts expire. Keep telling yourself those were only for the rich.

and then the obama tax cuts would take place, leading to the chart shown above. keep telling yourself that isn't true though, and he'd really be raising taxes on everyone.

Personally, I don't want McCain to win because he's been a political chameleon since picking up his campaign. Out of necessity, I think, or maybe he's just too senile to stop his Karl-Rove-style campaign managers from dictating the tone and direction of the campaign.

Anyway, I don't trust him. If he's willing to change his spots to win an election, who knows what he might do once elected. And heaven forbid the presidency ends up in Palin's lap, what a terrible choice for veep.
