In Ohio, in 04, people were disqualified because their voter apps were on the wrong weight of paper, absentee votes were not counted, voting locations were changed frequently (including on the day of the election) for democratic parts of town, poor locations with thousands of voters got 2 voting machines while small towns with hundreds of people had 4-5 (there were 5 hours lines in the rain for some poor neighborhoods), there were numerous actual cases of votes blatantly switching from kerry to bush before being submitted (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aBaX9GPSaQ is actually based on true stories), and more. All under the leadership of Ken Blackwell, Secretary of State and leader of Ohio's campaign to reelect Bush.

    God Ohio voting sucks.

Chris Parnell (that was Biden right? I haven't watched SNL in years, kinda hard for me to remember faces) I thought did a great Biden. His smile especially was dead on :D

Edit: Sorry, looked it up, it was Jason Sudeikis, Chris Parnell left 2 years ago...
Yep, shows how much I watch SNL lol

Haha that debate on SNL was pretty great. Tina Fey does an amazing job each week with it. I didn't check previously in the thread if this flow chart was already posted, but I thought that several of you may enjoy it.

Chris Parnell came back last week to play Jim Lehrer for the Presidential Debate; wonder who theyll get to guest star for brokaw this thursday :3 I kind of expected them to do Darrell Hammond as Biden.. I mean Jason Sudekis did a good job but he didnt really sound like Biden the way I'd think Darrell Hammond could. Also, the bailout sketch was pretty pretty good, wish Fred Armisen's Barack was as funny as his Barney Frank.

During the debate Palin said she wanted to connect with the "Joe six-packs and hockey moms across the country" or something to that effect. I've heard pundits use the six-pack term before, but never a person actually running for office, and when she said that I was kind of taken aback. Does that really connect with people? Do people actually identify themselves as a "joe six-pack?" That sounds like a really shitty guy to be, imo. When pundits said it I always thought it was code for "drunken rednecks."

    They can't, they'd be lacking the six-pack.

She's the first politician to really say that, it is kind of derogative and Idk why her handlers told her to say that. Hockey mom does the trick. Then again most drunken rednecks are voting for her ticket anyways b/c Obama is black, they think he is a muslim/his middle name is Hussein, they blindly cling to guns/religion, and/or they still think we can 'win' in the short term in Iraq/Iraq was involved with 9/11.

On a side note, the craigslist listing was posted before but I hadnt seen this link posted here yet so enjoy

that article was really good. loaded with facts and quotes. of course it's biased, but the point is that mccain's narrative very easily can be told in a way that's not so favorable to the image he's cultivated for himself.

There's a lot of very obvious spin, but the quotes speak for themselves, particularly the ones out of his autobiography. It does a good job of tying together the indiscretions of his youth with his current actions, and showing that he's willing to sacrifice pretty much any of his principles for personal gain.

It's also refreshing to see a harsh attack that ISN'T aimed at Palin. I know she's an easy target and all, but it gets kinda boring after a while.
