I don't think that at all. Rush thinks the best way to make a point is through humor, and I don't think that was his point at all. It was to show how radical Obama's associations are. It just so happens that Osama was a Muslim, if Osama was Swahilian I'm sure he would have said the same thing.

Assuming everything in that AC report is true, the only potentially sketchy part from my point of view is that a portion of the $100M received by the group they were on the board of went to Obama's church and Ayers' wife's something-or-other. I'd be curious to follow that money all the way down the line, but other than that it seems like a complete non-issue.

It honestly sounds like it's probably pretty hard to be a Chicago democratic politician and be completely unlinked to Ayers, given his positions in that community.

You're completely right, they served on two charity boards (both related to the same purpose) together, and they were both active in local politics on the same side. Why, Obama even had the gall to hold a political event at the guy's house! Clearly, they're secret terrorist brothers-in-arms.

Yes Kwi, Obama appears to have somewhat downplayed their seemingly minor relationship. I think people are more concerned however, with the question "if they had a relationship, what does that mean about Obama" not "did he downplay their relationship".

If evidence appears showing that money was funneled from the Annenberg grant into Obama's church for purposes other than childhood education, then that's something, and I'd be interested.

Actually, I condemned the whole video as spin, and focused on the one tidbit that HADN'T been beaten to death already. The money was specifically mentioned by the submitter of that video, and to a lot of people on both sides, that IS a perceived issue, at least until the much less interesting truth came out when the actual report talked about it. The rest of it is, quite frankly, old news to anyone who had been following politics at all.

Funny you should say that, because looking at it from the Iraq/Pakistan side of view, the American military can be easily seen as Terrorists invading their land.

Truthfully though, in my eyes, the proper way to have done this would be a surgical military strike nearly to the level of the atomic bomb. It's harsh, and cold blooded.. but it would have ended the war faster than it started.
