Abstinence only in schools is where religion is mixing with government. However, I don't think it's a federal issue. It should be left up to the individual school districts. If your small town wants to have abstinence only, then that fits their views and if they have 140 pregnancies they can blame themselves or TV, but there likely won't be 140 and there's a good chance it'll work in that small town.

Likewise the bigger city could have some infighting between religious folk and more liberal ones, and in those cities both would be taught...but again this isn't a federal issue.

Umm, teaching/academia doesn't force lifestyle changes. You can learn how to use condoms and still go fuck your life up if you choose. Abstinence would natural be brought up in the topic of sex education, but entirely replacing sex ed with abstinence is the equivalent of Creationism replacing evolution in science class: it's academically dishonest.

There are repeatable experiments that can be done on fruitflies that can produce speciation or "macro-evolution". the experiment takes about 2 months and involves feeding a 1 group of flies a starch based food and a 2nd group a maltose based food. the end result is two populations that cannot produce offspring. you can google: fruit fly speciation for more information.

and evolution below the species level or "micro-evolution" happens anytime you hear about super resistant strains of bacteria.
