I don't mean this as a comment on either candidate, I think the guy's actions stand on their own as one of the most incredibly foolish and inconsiderate things a parent can do to their newborn child short of physical abuse.
"I was actually going to name the baby John McCain, even as a girl, but I thought that was maybe too overboard," he said.

"I decided to actually name her Sarah McCain Palin, figuring hopefully I would get two weeks in the doghouse rather than two months."

... something tells me that he's going to spend a LIFETIME in the doghouse. If I was his wife, I'd be down chaning that name almost immediately.

The 95% figure is a bit misleading, actually. It's 95% of "working families", for some definition of working families.

In reality somewhere in the neighbourhood of 81% of all households would see a reduction in taxes, once you figure in retirees and households without children.

If you can't name your kids normal names, you should not get to vote.

    Hello, Bristol(ESPN). Piper(Pizza Restaurant). Track(and Field). Willow(was a good movie). Trig(math most people hate).

That would prevent just about every actor/actress from being able to vote.

A co-worker actually spoke up saying that she thinks that if you can't name your kid with a normal name.. you shouldn't be allowed to have kids. I think that's a good idea actually.

Willow is not a bad name.

It's names like "Chastize" and "Pernicious" or "Laqueefanya" that annoy me. Or people who are gators fans with names like "Orange Anne Greene". We won't even get into the parents who tried to name their daughter "Se7en".

    Fucking stupid parents.

How did some of you Americans convince yourselves to work against your own well being and support policies that favour the highest socioeconomic groups in the US? I'm interested; the ancient Greeks said no one knowingly harms themselves, but this may be an exception.

Just watch Palin supporters, those same people seem to have concentrated themselves around her.

Because John McCain and Sarah Palin said about 700 times in the past 2 months that Obama will raise your taxes period.

Regardless as to what Obama's stated plans are, people hear this and believe it. It's one of the more effective things McCain's campaign has accomplished. I'm sure you'll hear it about 5 more times tonight, in another of the boring, point-rehashing, nothing new introduced debates.

I believe it was Socrates who said that, but he was compelled by the State to drink poison, so do with that what you will.

It is known that cutting any taxes or even raising them isn't the most efficient method of stimulating an economy; you're better off starting a war. If your country has a deficit than you damn well better raise taxes, unless you want the government to print more money to keep spending their shit, and let me assure you that the government will always spend, and if i'm not mistaken the US spends the most in defense, on veterans, and on social security for the elderly and the youth, and all other spending is practically irrelevant, but i'm sure no one would dare say that the government should stop spending on defense, even though it's where you spend by far the most.

The US has one of the highest socioeconomic inequalities within first world countries, highest crime, highest disease rate, stop mother fucking acting like giving tax cuts to the highest socioeconomic rungs while ignoring education and infrastructure is a fucking good thing. Furthermore, if you're going to whine about fucking social security, you might want to remember that you have over 160 bases all over the fucking world, how's that for government fucking spending.

Socrates was sentenced to death so he was told to drink poison.

Edit: Checked my facts a little bit.

Socrates accepted his punishment because he "accepted" living within Athens, and as such the charges and sentencing were given by its citizens. Plato wrote that Socrates felt it was the right time (might have been Xenophon) for his death. By fleeing his sentencing he was doing that which no philosopher should do, and that's fear death.

    He drank poison Hemlock.
