The ACORN attacks are really getting pathetic. They've become the political equivalent of the old "Have you stopped beating your wife yet?" trap. The only difference is that McCain's asking "Have you stopped denying your illegal associations with ACORN yet?". If there's no wife-beating or illegal associations to reveal, then the only thing you can say is "I've never beat my wife or did anything illegitimate with ACORN", but that's portrayed as being in denial and lying. On the other hand, if there's even the slightest association with ACORN that he hasn't told us about, legitimate or not, any admission of that would be viewed as proof that he was lying, and that even more evil secrets await discovery.

Acorn is essentially a straw-man; it's being used as an avenue for a political attack on Obama and as an attempt to hide voter purging which greatly overshadows any voter fraud that could or does take place. You do realize that the majority of the article is an attack on public+private housing partnerships as opposed to straight public housing? I know it's clever to quote anything that attacks Obama, but in this case, it's attacking him for NOT being more of an "evil socialist". Article is right though, he's wrong in supporting this crap, it should've just been kept purely public housing like other cities did.

They did a story on ACORN on cnn or msn or some fucking news network the other day that I saw. The reporter was trying SO hard to be a "hard hitting jounralist" by doing the usual dramatic setup. Problem is that as much as he tried to make it a huge story the story he had wasn't interesting. The guy they interviewed said that it was basically a normal amount of errors, that it was only a problem because they were understaffed, that ACORN themselves were the ones reporting the potentially bad registrations for the office to look into...it just wasn't a story. Was like watching a guy trying to do a report on the impact of global warming in front of a huge glacier in a snowstorm in sub zero weather.
