    I got this letter today.

    Dear Red States...

We've decided we're leaving. We intend to form our own country, and
we're taking the other Blue States with us.

In case you aren't aware, that includes Hawaii, Oregon,Washington,
Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois and all the Northeast. We
believe this split will be beneficial to the nation, and especially
to the people of the new country of New California.

To sum up briefly: You get Texas, Oklahoma and all the slave states.
We get stem cell research and the best beaches. We get Elliot
    Spitzer. You get Ken Lay.

We get the Statue of Liberty. You get Dollywood.
We get Intel and Microsoft. You get WorldCom.
We get Harvard. You get Ole' Miss.
We get 85 percent of America's venture capital and entrepreneurs. You
    get Alabama.
We get two-thirds of the tax revenue, you get to make the red states
    pay their fair share.

Since our aggregate divorce rate is 22 percent lower than the
Christian Coalition's, we get a bunch of happy families. You get a
    bunch of single moms.

Please be aware that Nuevo California will be pro-choice and
anti-war, and we're going to want all our citizens back from Iraq at
once. If you need people to fight, ask your evangelicals. They have
kids they're apparently willing to send to their deaths for no
purpose, and they don't care if you don't show pictures of their
children's caskets coming home. We do wish you success in Iraq, and
hope that the WMDs turn up, but we're not willing to spend our
    resources in Bush's Quagmire.

With the Blue States in hand, we will have firm control of 80 percent
of the country's fresh water, more than 90 percent of the pineapple
and lettuce, 92 percent of the nation's fresh fruit, 95 percent of
America's quality wines (you can serve French wines at state dinners)
90 percent of all cheese, 90 percent of the high tech industry, most
of the U.S. low-sulfur coal, all living redwoods, sequoias and
condors, all the Ivy and Seven Sister schools, plus Harvard, Yale,
    Stanford, Cal Tech and MIT.

With the Red States, on the other hand, you will have to cope with 88
percent of all obese Americans (and their projected health care
costs), 92 percent of all U.S. mosquitoes, nearly 100 percent of the
tornadoes, 90 percent of the hurricanes, 99 percent of all Southern
Baptists, virtually 100 percent of all televangelists, Rush Limbaugh,
Bob Jones University, Clemson and the University of Georgia.

We get Hollywood and Yosemite, thank you.

Additionally, 38 percent of those in the Red states believe Jonah was
actually swallowed by a whale, 62 percent believe life is sacred
unless we're discussing the death penalty or gun laws, 44 percent say
that evolution is only a theory, 53 percent that Saddam was involved
in 9/11 and 61 percent of you crazy bastards believe you are people
with higher morals then we lefties.

By the way, we're taking the good pot, too. You can have that dirt
    weed they grow in Mexico.

    Peace out,
    Blue States

Awesome article about attempts to stop people from voting.

And yes, it's absolutely true and scary as fucking hell.

And yes, allowing more people to vote is better for the Democrats, so ensuring that everybody gets to vote has become a partisan issue. Is that not deeply disturbing?

A lawyer friend of mine has signed up to be a member of the "obama voter protection group" (i forgot the exact name of the group). What they do essentially is to prevent voters to be intimidated at the booth. You guys should sign up and help support the cause as well if you can spare the time.

Not acorn but this is great!

In Nevada, Obama supporters upturned a wheelchair-bound woman who wanted to caucus for Hillary, flushed Clinton ballots down the toilets, and told union members they could vote only if their names were on the list of Obama supporters.
Now before people say Hillary's a whiner still crying and her supporters are whiners, to me Hillary supporters have been very quiet and so has she, since Obama's been in the front line.

Hey aurik can you make the people at the DMV work faster? I mean they have an awesome secure job but they don't want to work faster. Whenver I am there they look at me like I am an idiot. No customer service. Most look like they don't want to deal with me at all. How can we make them work better or at least renew my license faster?

    Look at their other headlines.

Not a single article about the failings or troubles of the McCain campaign, only the campaign's press-release optimism and the evildoings of their horrid detractors, and nothing but scorn for Obama/Biden. I wonder what newsmax's bias is?

The article is sourced entirely from

    1) A clearly embittered Hillary Clinton supporter

    2) A conservative columnist

Your critical thinking skills are lacking, methinks.

Also, you're full of shit if you think Hillary Supporters are 'being quiet.' Many of them are founding groups like 'Democrats for McCain' and canvassing battleground states to whip up support for the GOP.

Yes, because pointing out the bias of one news source means I reject the notion that there could be bias elsewhere. Amazing deductive reasoning, Sherlock.

I guess you're right, though. I should only read news sources that are blatantly trying to put a spin on issues instead of trying to find real facts. How silly of me to forget that it's the job of the news media to think for me and it's not my place to try to see any fault with them.

ZOMG! Communist News Network at it again!

My wife went to a Obama rally in Colorado on Sunday, and she said Obama supporters were craving backwards "B's" into White women's faces!

So I have to find credible news sources to post anything reasonable, eh? I mean the person got opinions from what people saw was going on and therefore "twist" their own words into what is news. I guess that article is rubbish. I apologize.

So, because a legit news site is considered left-bias you decide "fuck legitimacy"?

If even fox news reports on this it will have more credibility. As of

lol they have Pat Boone as a pundit.

This is what would be a big fucking deal. Now, yes, news places have a terrible history about reporting voter fraud, but there has to be some reputation on the line to have some credibility. Newsmax only has a reputation with people who hate all liberals.

You have to prove its reasonability to an audience that likely won't think it's reasonable. So yes, you need credibility to actually show that its reasonable.

Is it really too much to ask?

"Well golly I guess that 'journalist' really did get 100% of his information from a single source and didn't do one fucking ounce of fact checking, BUT WHAT THE HELL I'LL POST TO /BG/ with a 'lolz' and see how many people I can troll."

Yeah...I get it now I suppose.

I would say these http://www.ap.org/elections2008/index.html people are more legit, more in the middle. But that's just my opinion, and clearly, it means nothing.
