I don't understand why you post that shit. As a governor, you have to MAKE TOUGH DECISIONS even if you don't necessarily agree with it. If you need to cut spending, that means you have to take money away from somewhere. When a family has money problems, they might cut toys for their kid. Does this make them bad? no, they had to make cuts and it sucks

sometimes it's not political. McCain's voting on the GI bill included. You think McCain, the man that knows what it means to be in the military the most, wants to give our soldiers shit-tons of money and benefits? ofc, but our country is in a spending crisis

Obviously you need to read up on the GI bill more and why he voted against it. As far as her making tough decisions? Did you read some of the shit that was on that budget? Refrigeration improvement? This was an obvious political decision considering her beliefs before she found out her daughter was preggo.

Guys, remember, politicians don't make mistakes, they make "tough decisions."

Palin delivered the speech fine... it just lacked substance. And i'm honestly not a big obama fan. I'm just an even less mccain fan.

Palin's speech gets owned with facts:

It's great how Palin can cut social programs while still raising taxes on oil companies... so that she can send out $1,200 checks. Fucking idiot.

you're really one to talk about being taken seriously.

Anyways, speech was mediocre. It had the one-liners to get applause from a Republican audience, but her delivery is nothing too special. Content-wise it was pretty damn horrible, filled with misrepresentations and flat-out lies. It was a cardboard speech... she didn't have much of a hand in writing it (compare this to Obama being his own main writer and Tyche questioning that lol....).

To be fair, I wasn't really impressed with Biden's VP speech either.

Obama doesn't write his own speeches. Newsweek/Time, some magazine I read at the gym did an expose on his speech writers. I'm sure he helps, but he's not he "main writer".

I don't go to a poor butcher for opinions on banking...I don't look for a democratic art graduate to give me a biased opinion on a republican speech...

And god forbid I question Obama and his speech writing when he said himself that his writer and strategist helped him draft the DNC speech.

Edit: Yeah, I just read a few articles to refresh on the speechwriting. Obama wrote the ideas out on paper by hand, then ran it through with his people's of people (Favreau, Axelrod, and Gibbs) and they all put together a draft. I never said Obama was a bad writer, I actually said quite the contrary. I don't think I've actually said many bad things about Obama at all because I try to remain somewhat objective and rational.

believe the word you're looking for is "unbiased" tyche. Now, would you like me to edit your posts or just write them for you?

In all seriousness, at least I provided some source to back up my opinions on the speech. Delivery is obviously largely subjective (although objectively I'd say it's fair to conclude that Palin didn't stack up to Hillary, compared decently well to Biden), but the factual innacuracies are a largely objective matter and I posted proof. How about you just watch/read the speech and make your own conclusion instead of bitching about criticisms of it as libruhl bias?

If only we could all be pro-life-abstinence-supporting-hypocritical-creationism(intelligent design, whatever)-supporting republicans this would be a better USA. *ok sarcasm off*

Seriously, I don't see how any intelligent woman could see Palin as more of a stretch for voters. When Obama picked Biden as his VP i almost decided to change my position and vote for McCain due to Biden & the RIAA. Honestly McCain isn't that bad of a candidate, I cannot see myself voting for him now with his choice of VP. I'm sorry I'd rather download less media and buy it, then deal with someone like Palin.

I'm the exact same way. McCain is gambling to possibly lose a huge amount of the independent voters in order to appease and energize social conservatives towards him. He lost any chance of my vote, and he had a pretty good chance honestly, when he picked this fucking religious zealot who wants to create policies based on fairy tales regardless of logic.

This shit is just absurd, when she's saying crap like "God wanted us to invade such and such countries" and people are fucking buying it!? It's mind-blowing people are even still considering her.

Yep, and its this kind of thing that makes me wonder if its all a joke, if he's even trying now, or he's just a 72 year old guy who doesn't care anymore and has nothing to lose.

Also, I'm not in the country of course so I have no way of really being sure (since I can't watch his show,) but I read that there is speculation that Bill O'Reilly is an Obama supporter and a McCain hater? <_< is this true? I mean, I don't like O'Reilly but... that would shock the shit out of me tbh..

What about when McCain said that countries don't invade other countries in the 21st century?

I actually posted a liberals opinion and said that the content was poor. I didn't bitch at criticisms, I simply said you're the last person I'd ask for an opinion on the speech. The latter referral came from an AP writer, I'll try to dig it up at work where they compared the speech style/tone/atmosphere/etc to Reagan. Again, they said the content was bad, the speech was superb. Ironically, Hillary's speech caught a lot of shit performance wise. Even liberals said she appeared angry and somewhat contrived (I think people in the other thread pointed out teeth gritting or something, I can't recall). Palin's, from what I've read, seems well. I find it hard to believe you could be objective.

Sera you really need to stop with the "but he's a bad parent" angle. I have no idea what you're trying to accomplish with it.

(this includes picking at Palin's role as a mother, just stop it)

I'm going with the latter, that he knows he has almost no shot of winning and is just praying Palin can hold it together long enough to steal the election. Look at the state polls, Obama has huge leads in enough states to give him 260 electoral votes, and thats not even counting the 12 or so swing states (which he leads in roughly half). It would be an absolute miracle for McCain to even keep it close.
