I said neither he NOR she impress me in that aspect, PERSONALLY, based on what I have observed. You can think what you want-- that's what I think. I don't have to stop shit, if I think they're shitty parents, that's my deal. I didn't say anyone was stupid for disagreeing, I can see your side too, I'm just not convinced.

I really want to know about the Bill O'Reilly thing, I've read articles and columns suggesting opposite things... and since I normally think that while he's entertaining to watch, he's kind of a douche usually.

why? I realise not all conservatives do this, but we're referring to a party whose most die hard and far right members rub their "superior family values" in the faces of everyone who doesnt share the same view as they do. So I can't call it how I see it? I can't say that I think they're both completely full of shit, and so are the evangelicals who are singing the praises of their perfect families? Oh wait, they're all "normal Americans" now, right? I forgot about how that changed when Bristol got pregnant. I guess you're right Kuya.

They are politicians, the only thing of relevance is that which is public, such as their anti abortion stance or Abstination only stance coming into conflict with reality. The only reason the latter popped up was because the situation was ironic, it reminded us of how ineficient Abstination only is and it brought it into discussion.

What could possibly be the public/political worth of accusing them of being bad parents? Based on this of all things? I also don't know why we're even discussing McCain's adopted daughter.

if your daughter gets beaten up in the press for just being there, then she tells you next time she doesn't want to be around so much...

McCain is such a maverick, you know with the pandering to the party and president that were so malicious to him and his daughter 8 years ago.

"Two Web sites, one pro-Kerry, one pro-Bush, are tracking state polls, then assigning corresponding electoral votes and showing results on color-coded maps. Both show Kerry way ahead. On the pro-Kerry site, www.electoral-vote.com, for example, Kerry has 317 electoral votes (270 are needed to win) and Bush 202. On the pro-Bush site, www.electionprojection.com, Kerry has 327 and Bush 211."

And never count the republicans out, they are far more savvy than the dems when it comes to politics, just ask Dade county and Ohio.

Aslo when can we talk shit about Bidens' daughter getting arrested after a night of drinking and, more importantly, his lobbyist son?

You know as much flack as McCain and Obama receives from everyone, politicians in general, these two http://profile.ak.facebook.com/objec...13071_9948.jpg do more good to the world than their foreign policies, issues combined.

Sure we complain about the practice of Microsoft as an evil corporation, yet these two give a damn about the world. I've donated my fair share and I volunteer at my local boys and girls club. I am sure a lot of you do as well, but until you folks realize that the government won't do shit for you, better actually get your ass out of the computer and start helping and doing something for yourself and others.

What it seemed like to me was that she said she felt RESPONSIBLE for his loss.
Did I get the wrong impression? It didn't sound to me like she was traumatized so much by what they said about her as she was by the fact that SHE felt SHE (and things related to her) was the CAUSE of his loss... which iirc, it wasn't even close/connected to to the cause. Therefore, she wanted to stay out of the way so her dad could run "a clean campaign" so she didnt cause him anymore trouble. If he just goes, "yeah you're right, you were trouble, best for you to stay out of the way" ... that isn't kinda ... i dont know, mean? I understand this could be seen as trying to look after her, and I sincerely hope so, but if I felt guilty about ruining his campaign for simply being who I was... I would want reassurance that isn't the case at all. That's all I'm saying.

Far as Palin, my only gripe is that the whole thing thrusts her kid out for the public to chew up ONLY because of her stance on abstinence only, NOT because she's actually pregnant, which honestly is kind of an embarassing situation already for a high school girl. Knowing her stance on that issue, and the effect it would have on her kid... she couldn't have said "Hmm.. maybe next time, guys. Now isn't a great time for my family to be under that kind of pressure and scrutiny."?

well to be fair beckwin to be considered a maverick you have to agree with Bush's policies 90% of the time and/or vote for a policy before you vote against it.

You Americans have an unhealthy obsession with the private lives of others, especially your politicians. If what they did isn't illegal, it really shouldn't concern any of you.

I do have a question however, since you know, I'm one of those bible thumping, creationist, anti-abortion conservatives; why is it, that the democratic females were all about having a female break glass ceilings in regards to Hillary; and that women need to burn their bra's and be out in the public on and on and on... the GOP does this and it goes to you need to be barefoot and pregnant? I'm asking out of pure why not if I agree with the choice or not, but as a why organizations like NOW are so against her even though they were so for Clinton. Isn't it in theory the same thing?

Articles which were supported by NOW http://www.realclearpolitics.com/art...ght_sexis.html
where they say the bashing of Clinton was a "she-devil" (Chris Matthews on MSNBC, who helpfully supplied an on-screen mockup of Clinton sprouting horns). "But for all Clinton's political blemishes, the darker stain that has been exposed is the hatred of women that is accepted as a part of our culture." Marie Cocco Washington Post.

While they don't back her abortion policy they're all for the bashing of her and her family. Why the double side of things? And why is organizations like NOW not in support of a female. It's like they love to hear the bark of a woman in charge until it's a different bark then they're used to and then it's back to the kitchen with you there's dishes to be done.

The problem is that Palin (and similar religious nutjobs) don't respect the concept of a "private life". If she wants to try to enforce strict family values on a nation-wide scale, I expect the same access to her family. If she respected the values of others and didn't try to pass herself off as some kind of super-moral crusader, I'd have no issues with what happened with her daughter.

I'm sure someone beat me to it but....honestly anyone that believes that the "Independent/Pissed off" Hillary thinkers will just flock to her because she's got a sandy vagina is something along the lines of lunacy. I agree that there will be a few; the hardcore sheep will go with them but seriously for a person that is quoted as saying.

"Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending [U.S. soldiers] out on a task that is from God," she exhorted the congregants. "That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God's plan."
    and

"I think God's will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that," she said.
Regarding the possible building of a new 30Billion dollar gas pipeline is insane. Those that seriously had a problem with the rumor of Obama being a muslim will probably jump the gun and vote for her. But she can't even keep the separation of church and state in order, anyone in their right mind and has the though capacity to do their own research will see that this isn't correct.

Too much of her past is clouded with doubt; especially the little 8hr plane ride she took while she was supposedly in labor for her last kid.

I'm an Independent but have yet to vote for a Republican and most of the subterfuge is usually what leaves a bad taste in my mouth. During the entire speech all I heard were attacks and the embellishment of her acts in office. Maybe once the GOP decides that it should begin viewing the citizens as something other than idiots, they might get my vote.

@Sephira - it's politics; at the end of the day the spin will be what makes the most money and wins the most votes. In my opinion I don't think they had any issue with 'women' as much as with the 'Party' that they belonged which was obvious.

While I was against Hillary as a VP; how can you work someone side by side that you've tried to destroy, I was not against what she believed and wanted to achieve. I just happened to like Obama more and what he wanted to achieve and what he had to say. I could not have seen both of them working together and being merry and go happy, especially if Bill was going to be in the house as well. The shit would have just hit the fan.

What? So is there a reason why you can't attack her policies and have to aim for her personally instead?

One would think that if speaking at a Pentecostal church you would use words like "God" a few times, since that's what your audience is listening too and about, especially since that speech took place at a church.

Agreed, if you don't like her policy then attack that and produce something other than the blogsphere rhetoric so that people like me who don't pay much attention to the other person running will have something to actually read and learn.

I've already learned quite a bit about things since reading this thread that has forced me to go and look up other information on my own so I can form my own opinion about Obama. Doesn't change my opinion of him but at least it's now more of he loves killing babies; something that I have grave reasons to not vote for him.
