But that is because politicians like to say "We need to invade country "X" they are a huge threat, no time to explain exactly why (throw in some euphemisms such as "terror" "nuclear weapons" "WMD" or other crap) just trust me its for the good of this country"

See the main thing that scares me about Nukes is if someone were to light on off in the middle east. I understand a nuclear attack on US soil in the states would be a rare occurence (IE not a surprise, we'd hopefully intercept it or something, or find the guys if it was internal). What scares me is the reactions. The last thing you want is nut jobs nuking the country in retaliation. The loss of life would be ridiculous. Personally I have a general angst for all humanity, but that doesn't make me feel better knowing tons would die from nuclear war.

Pakistan is much more unstable than Iran and they already have nukes. Not to mention they're likely to actually be housing terrorists who have actually attacked us, and have had testy relations with India for years now.
