I don't like McCain, it was an idea.
Biden authored the bill to give Bush the power to invade Iraq. Can someone logically explain this considering everyone in Congress can see exactly what the real intelligence is for any given situation? They don't have oversight over every operation, though some do. However a war would have given them the opportunity to see every bit of intel they wanted to make a correct decision.
This is either extremely negligent on his and congresses part, or they were in it for the lulz just like Bush.
Seriously considering commanding the national guard of any state as being "military experience" is just plum stupid. Is it that much of a concern to anyone that a candidate has military experience? I don't understand why one side is so intent on persecuting her for not having it, and the other side comes up with these ridiculous claims that she does. The whole national guard back and forth is retarded.
The fact that she's an unabashed racist is much more interesting anyways.
One mistake in biden's life is forgivable, he is human, he acknowledges his mistake, which says a lot more than McCain who continues to make the same mistake every single time he talks.
That sounds like the Republicans when they defend Palin's shittyness.
Okay, here is where I'm going to educate your stupidity with experience. There's such a thing as volunteering for missions on a national crisis, i.e. 9/11, Katrina. I know because I personally volunteered to go to Katrina to help everyone out. zOMG teh Pentagon didn't zend me 2 Katrina I iz volunteered!?
Dude just shutup your grasping at straws.
EDIT: I beg you to research this because obviously your just listening to whatever someone tells you to win your vote.
What do you have to say about it being illegal for the US Military to patrol the United States? Delivering aid, etc is okay, but to actually patrol and conduct operations was illegal.
In fact, Bush had to create new patriot-act-esque laws in order for him to do it. I understand there have been 2 laws on this matter, but they do go against the Constitution.
I don't like that Biden got swept up in post-9/11 fervor. That's a negative in my book.
First of all, who said all the control would go to them? Try not to counter other people's statements with extreme situations, and instead attack the point at hand. That is, to you Americans, having ANYTHING BE SOCIALIZED, is a moral wrong, and well, you're going to have to decide to either go with results or swallow your situation down with pride. By the way, what would you suggest as a solution to this predicament that does not involve government intervention... taking in mind that any form of intervention here would ultimately end up in the government intervening anyway.
Obama being against the Iraq war from the start, somehow possessing the same foresight that, um, I had, is one of the best things about him. Unfortunately outside of Kucinich and, ...Feingold (talk about a fucking dream ticket) he can't throw a stone at any group of people remotely qualified for VP without hitting an initial Iraq war supporter.
Biden is an asshole for glad-handing with Bush, and I wish I could believe that without his support it wouldn't have happened, but that's nonsense. No one was stopping that jingoistic ridiculous "america-fuck yeah" "fuck the towelheads no matter where they live" tide that was rising. The republicans were just too intent on pushing it, and when republicans get an idea, and can pump fear into it, they are extremely difficult to stop.
If only more senators had had the foresight that Obama and myself possessed.
The extreme polarization of the parties is a huge problem, but that's a discussion for another time and place. I know plenty of people who consider themselves Republicans who are perfectly moral people who respect life and yadda yadda. I also know a black guy who hates watermelons AND fried chicken. But everyone always feels the need to slap big giant labels onto groups to just makes thing easier on their brains/moral code.
@ Churchill's comment about still voting for Evil, a vote for a 3rd party candidate is a waste of a vote and will be for a very long time, the 2 party system is just too heavily entrenched right now. I know there's no chance in hell of a vote for Mccain to amount to jack fucking shit in my state, but I'm still going to cast it for him.
Also, didn't Obama admit that the surge in Iraq was a GOOD thing, despite his earlierclaims otherwise (the whole O'reilly thing from earlier this week)? While the exit strategy has obviously been a huge snafu that no one can dispute as being awful, he's already put his foot in his mouth in regards to entering Iraq.
I'm not arguing here, just expanding. I just can't see how a group of people who have complete access to information that holds the truth to any matter can be so grossly negligent and not held accountable.
If they say they were wrong now, that really means nothing to me. Bush can't say he's wrong, he invalidates himself and the entire United States (at least from his perspective)
All the congressmen running around saying they supported it before because Bush told them it was a good idea are full of it, they had the responsibility to see it otherwise if they information deemed it so. In my opinion, they all thought it was going to be good for the lulz and be good economically for America, when it turned out that AQ was able to use Iraq as a recruitment poster everyone turned tail and ran.
@Archilbald - Democrats were typically the war party prior to Bush, your bias towards them being fearmongers is a tad shortsighted. A lot of Democrat policies, like helping countries who are being slaughtered isn't much different from Republican ones where they oust Dictators or fight Communism, etc.
@Krandor - It may be a waste of a vote to you, but at least you never sacrificed your integrity. If everyone voted or didn't vote because of a "two-party" system, America would be more represented in it's policies.
I agree, its a negative, but I think he makes up for it. He is a man of extreme character and insight. Pairing him with Obama was personally, the best thing possible. Biden/Obama, Obama/Biden, both have my full support. Biden will tell Obama the way shit is, no bullshit. He's not going to let obama fuck up.
I think it's incredibly petty bullshit on the Republicans and FOX news regard, but so much of this election year has been driven by the most petty and minor of points that I think you're going to see the Republicans grasping onto this and using it against Obama's campaign up until the election.
I was merely tossing it out here for people who have been saying that Republicans are hypocrites and that Democrats are apparently shining moral beacons of truth. Both parties are full of raging dipshits/hypocrites/<insert label of your choice>, and it annoys me that everyone assumes that everything in politics comes down to pure Black and Whites. This likely stems from my extreme dislike for my father (Look daddy issues), who is convinced of literally the exact opposite of what most of this forum community displays, which is that Republicans are looking out for the country while democrats want to destroy it. Both parties are rife with corruption and more issues then you could fit into a 2 disc Screamo album, pretending like one is better then the other is just ridiculous. Individual candidates can be fine, but the parties on a whole are both steaming piles of dogcrap.
And yes, I'm well aware that my comments about voting for Mccain are one big contradiction, sue me.
Yes, I made alot of edits.
because thus far the free market has fucking failed in comparison to more government-run systems when it comes to public health. cuba, france, england, ireland, the netherlands, finland, germany, italy, etc all have better public health. stop expecting the free market automatically is the best option for everything.
so anyways, back to Sarah: here's a link to the alleged list of books she tried to have banned. I'm really not putting much stock into it being accurate, and to be fair the author here acknowledges it's not a stable source, but interesting nonetheless:

it's actually a hell of a good reading list, lol.
Actually, a third party vote is very far from "wasting your vote." I know that most people aren't aware of this, but the vast majority of what a third party does to run for President has nothing to do with campaigning for the job. They spend a majority of their time and money just trying to get on the ballot. Right now, Bob Barr is polling at around 6% nationally, but even if he gets just 2% of the vote then it means that the Libertarian Party could save several months and over $250,000 in petitioning costs.
