And I'm sure Obama is an economic genius who could fix the economy by wishing everything into perfection.

There's no way in hell that a president can be an expert on every part of their plans, so who cares if it's being shaped up by his advisers or the candidate themselves? In theory, it's still going to be in place when they take office (ignoring the usual hoobajoo about politicians never holding up to their promises once they take office).

What I've seen from Mccain's campaign in terms of economics/energy is preferential to me then what Obama offers, so I would rather vote for Mccain.

Oh and for those looking for fun, expect Republicans (read : FOX news) to be firing off alot of bullets this week about a slip up Obama made in an interview this morning, referencing how his "Muslim, I mean my Christian faith" has helped guide him. (Not an exact quote, but it covers the gist of it)

I think you missed the point of that video.

The group Paul was referencing was headed by the Secretary of Treasury, McCain didn't even know that. All he did was reference sunshine and relying on men smarter than him.

He didn't understand that Paul was trying to discuss this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Working...ancial_Markets and their secret meetings that control the economy. There is no transparency or ability for anyone to know what is said or what is being done by these men. It is headed by the Secretary of the Treasury, it was started by Ronald Reagan in 1988, something someone as REAGONOMICAL as McCain should understand and know about.

Paul just wanted to know how McCain would handle this group, being such a reformer.

Oh, it's a real video? Well, my statement still stands, but I fired up the video and just assumed you were trolling me with a Billy Madison clip, so I turned it off.

In regards to why I would support Mccain, I prefer his economic/energy plans over Obama's, and tbh, that's really the only thing that I really give a shit about in this election. Incredibly shortsighted and selfish sure, but different people vote for different reasons.
Yes, it's "reverse racism" for someone who grew up in the civil rights movement to talk about the "government bringing down the black man" when that's exactly what they did, lololololololol please.

Considering that Obama is still open to some increase in domestic drilling, I don't see exactly why you'd support McCain's energy plan. And McCain's economic plan boils down to more tax cuts for the wealthy... which haven't proven to be awfully effective over the past 8 years.

Obama supports alternative energy industries and offering incentive for domestic employment, McCain supports what exactly? Drilling everywhere which is not a solution- at max output we still wouldn't be able to cover a significant portion of our oil consumption, and it would take a decade or longer to get to that point anyway. Both candidates support nuclear energy.

Mccain has differences in various taxes imposed on oil (he wants them removed, Obama doesn't), and alot of alternative energy sources are a crock of shit (Wind energy) or incredibly far from being truly reliable.

With the last comment, again, I'm being a shortsighted prick.

oil is making record profits, exactly how does removing taxes help much of anything? The gas tax holiday is considered a joke by most economists- and it's popularly held that oil companies would for the most part pocket that money rather than pass savings on to consumers- and would have impacts on the transportation budget. Obama presents a possible windfall tax, is that what you're referring to?

Sorry, but there's no reason to coddle a record-profiting oil industry when we need to be pushing much harder for alternative sources.

There's a tariff imposed on ethanol that Mccain would want remove, and then also yeah, the gax tax holiday crap. I was mostly referring to the ethanol though.

Alternative energy sources still need alot of work, and the ones already in place (excluding Nuclear power obviously) are generally problematic. Wind energy is just plain bad (the net gain from Wind energy is minuscule, not to mention being incredibly reliant on weather patterns). Solar energy is ok, but it's viability can vary alot depending on location/weather.

While I'm not against working to develop new energy sources, we're going to be stuck on oil for a long time, no matter who ends up as president. Like it or not we're going to be OPECs bitch for years to come.

    I'm just curious here...
how do you push for more alternative sources? If the technology isn't there, are Obama/McCain gonna invent it or something?

who the fuck isn't for funding alternative energy sources? It's not like you can be anti-alternative - both candidates have said they want to fund it...

I guess, since Obama said he won't drill....oh wait, that was BEFORE he said he is for it...
He was only against it before he was for it

He said he was open to it, but doesn't want to drill at the expense of seriously putting forth an effort to find new energy sources.

Palin (and by extension McCain) has personally said that "there's no energy problem we cant' drill oureselves out of." Obama meanwhile has supported using Drilling as a bandaid while we put our main focus on new energy sources.

    Anyways, there IS a difference.

Like others have said - some politicians are more serious about the enviornment/alternative fuel than others. Just look at the failure that was Bush's "Advanced Energy Initiative."

that's great what she says, but she doesn't make McCain's policy, and his policy is basically the same as Obamas, with only a little more drilling. You really can't say McCain energy plan is terrible if you praise Obamas
