Obscenely complex situation that I don't fully understand myself, but the way I understand it, it was a screwed if you do, screwed if you don't, it's just that the buying out was a bit less of a screw.

Why didn't Clinton beef up the national defense during his tenure? Which Bush has been doing now, thus creating a national deficit (yes this is most of where are money is being drained too) yet why don't WE discuss more about Haliburton and Cheney?
Yes, they are huge problems in this country, but the stories stopped being entertaining to people so they went away. Hurray entertainment news.

Why doesn't anyone talk about the North American Union? How did talks under Bush, the Mexican President, and the Canadian PM happen and yet the news doesn't want us to hear jack shit about it? If you Google "north american union" you hardly won't get anything in the news.google.com search about this.
Mostly because it's not going to happen, no matter how much Mexico wants it to.

Why is Sarah Palin giving the same speech, over and over, and how can she do that without people not noticing?
Obama does the same thing. There is apparently one speech he has been giving for 2 years that he's been slowly refining, but is still the same basic speech.

There are tons of questions. The media only wants us to see a few answers.
People don't demand this shit. It's all about the money, and the American public wants more of what they show: partisan bickering rather than deep analysis.

What if it was switched, let's say Bush and Clinton had their tenures switched. I bet we would hate on Clinton and love Bush. Right? Wake up!

...now what are you talking about?

If Bush did what Clinton did and Clinton did what Bush did then yes, my opinions would be reversed. I'm going to assume that's what you mean by tenure. If not, I'm not sure what the hell you're talking about.

Are you saying that if Bush was prez from 92-00 and Clinton was 00-08 then things would have been different? No shit. And we may guess what may have been different but the only thing I can guarantee is that we would be wrong.

Then again, when people end statements with "Wake up!" the statements are usually crazy ramblings so I doubt I should pay much attention to this.

It's one of the most diabolical, most successful movements I've studied. It preys on the complacency of the populous -- people who refuse to self-educate themselves about issues and how it affects them. Additionally, people don't like others who are smarter than them. It all contributes to the "share a beer with" phenomenon; style over substance.

Throw on top of it, blame a non-existent liberal media. All you have to do, since these people are not educated about issues and rely on the television to tell them things, is to say "the media is lying to you. They're liberals, and they're pushing an ideology to make us look like the bad guys". It makes the media cringe and people rebel against something completely non-existant.

It's amazingly devious. And it's worked.

Together, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae back about... $6 trillion worth of mortgages. If they crash, you can imagine what happens to the rest of the US economy. It's not pretty.

Clinton's "tenure" was a pretty peaceful time for the US. Arguably one of the most peaceful times in recent memory. Not everyone feels the need to constantly be increasing our defenses just for the sake of doing it. Additionally, you can only claim that "most of are money" is going to national defense if you include the Iraq and Afghanistan wars as "national defense". There was a lot of money spent on "homeland security", but it doesn't even come close in scale to how much we spend on foreign wars.

As for your claim that we would hate Clinton if the terms had been reversed, that's such a ridiculous situation that it's impossible to prove any kind of point based on it. It's entirely possible that if George W. had been president in 1992, we would've been in precisely this situation in 2000, and Clinton would be left to clean it up. It's such a wild hypothetical, with so many different variables and possibilities, that it doesn't prove anything.

No idea. If you believe the theories about it, you could say that it's part of the conspiracy.

Contrary to popular belief, in general, the media is not engaged in a pursuit of truth or justice or any other ideological goal. They print newspapers and run TV cameras to make money, and they will show us the things that make them the most money. Sometimes that's the truth, sometimes it's a carefully crafted lie, sometimes it's a distraction. People should be more careful to distinguish between the three, but again, people are dumbfucks.

The "bailout" happened because the major stakeholders in FHMC and FHMA are the governments of other countries, and had action not been taken there would've been a worldwide financial cascade as central banks would be forced to stop all lending. There was a great piece on this on NPR yesterday.

I actually remember this - Clinton's goal was to reduce the overall cost of the military by reducing the overall personnel, training the smaller force better and more intensely, and supplementing it with modern military hardware from new guns to long-range high-accuracy missile systems to remote control planes. The highly touted incident where Osama Bin Laden was located in 2000 and Clinton didn't give the order to take him out - the images were taken by an unmanned drone.

I have more I want to say on this but I'll do it in another reply.

People who pay attention, like yourself, picked up on this right away. She's giving the same speech over and over because she's all hat and no cattle, just like the current president. And if you were McCain or a bigwig in his campaign or in the party, would you really want this absolutely unknown person saying anything off the script?!

There are tons of questions. The media only wants us to see a few answers.
Unfortunately, that's the reality we live in today. You have to look for and verify your own news these days, because the mass media is either too interested in their profit margins to care or too politically vested and tilted towards a certain agenda to be objective.

Yes, that includes Olbermann, Stewart, Colbert and Maddow. I know they're blatantly partisan - but they have reasons for it. The rest of the media has become so tilted or disinterested that it created a vacuum that could only be filled by people who went the other way. Thankfully the profit-minded television executives have realized there's just as large a market for it as there is for Fox News, if not larger.

The part about Sarah Palin giving the same speech over and over again, is not seen by me. Seen by Kmstr from Limit Break on Odin. Gotta give credit where credit is due.

But this is a web search, not a news search. I mean specifically on ABC,Fox, NYPost, your mainstream media does not want to divulge into this. Most of your everyday people, who come home from work, long tired day, hit up cbsnews, abcnews, nbcnews etc. I don't ever recalling people talking about this.

And to say the NAU won't happen huh? What about www.spp.gov? What's this website about?

It's obviously the secret public website of the conspirators. You've put us all in danger just by linking to it, the black helicopters will be here soon! *grabs his crowbar and runs for the sewers*

The NAU has been spoken about in mainstream media and Lou Dobbs speaks about NAFTA and Immigration on a nightly basis. The problem is that just as everyone says; it just doesn't seem to be making a big emphasis on the media enough to blow the cap off.

Why? I couldn't even begin to tell you; granted I'm a conspiracy theorist but even I know better than to jump off the wall with the theories. Regardless of whether you do or don't believe in the conspiracies, in the end it's spoken about daily but we just hear it as NAFTA and not as it would like to be called.

Another thing you'd like to look into if you do go into the NAU/NAFTA ordeal is for the "Amero"; yet again it was metioned briefly in the media but I have yet to see an indepth report on it. I try to watch as much of the news as possible; just to see what's going on even if I know much is being left out or has been dilluted in one way or another.

At the end of the day it revolves around the individual person to do the research. Believe me you aren't the only one that's noticed that all she's doing is regurgitating the same speech in different variations. Reason, I'm waiting for the Debates and as the Bipartisan team doing the digging in the "Troopergate" said "Wait till October".

We'll see how it all pans out when she does her first Interview on lolABC I believe it is and whether or not she gives the deer in the headlights look. But they'll probably just ask her what she was going to wear at the RNC or how long she's had to wear glasses and if she likes red lipstick on her pig or not.

I'm looking forward to it; being an Independent I've grown enough thick skin to be able to tolerate listening to all the camps without pulling my hair out in annoyance and frustration of the bullshit the spill out most days.

I think the only way America would accept the North American Union would be if the dollar ceased to be worth anything, otherwise Americans would be the same as they are now - arrogant. If it's worth nothing, and people are in a panic, things like the NAU seem like a good idea.

I in no way support it, but it's not like it's impossible. All it takes is a crisis for Americans to want to give away freedoms or sovereignty.

Now I know I'm not the only one that knew that when he said the pig/lipstick reference he was talking about how the McCain campaign has tried to change their stripes to be a "Change Campaign". Such as the fish/newspaper reference was meant to solidify what he meant with the pig comment.

Just because you have a vagina in the race now doesn't mean that every attack that has a female reference is aimed at her. They are just using it to try to gain more of the female/sympathy vote for Palin's sandygina.

Which we did in 9/11 in adding all of those lovely amendments to the Constitution. Hell check the second link in my sig for some info on it.

Considering that John McCain has used the exact same line when talking about Hillary (and several other times in more general circumstances), he's either not serious or incredibly fucking stupid.

I'm listening to BBC at the moment, and they're talking about the "controversy" right now and playing the McCain pig clip.

Apparently it is. It's really making him look horrible too because there's clips all over the place of McCain using the same euphemism against Hillary.

BTW I just read this - basically the play-by-play of a Democrat who went to a McCain-Palin rally in Virginia. If you don't want to read the whole thing, the best quote is here:
    Spoiler: show
The next 90 minutes was an exercise in endurance. "Obama will destroy our country", "Obama is what is wrong with Washington.""McCain will clean up the corruption!" "Joe Biden has been in the Senate for 24 years, and what has he done?"

    My legs also started hurting.

Interspersed with this was the claim that Obama hated women, and how sexist he was, and how horrible he is towards women. I heard a rather redneck fella say in one breath, "Obama hates women" followed by, "Damn, I would FUCK Sarah Palin silly!"

I found the disconnect very apparent. VPILF craze was rampant with the men in their 20’s-50’s. The open lust for her, calling her a hot piece, and commenting on how good "her mooserack" was (Don’t ask, I didn’t get it either) was juxtaposed with their claims of sexism in the Democratic party. "Obama said, put lipstick on a Pig, and it is still a Pig, How DARE he say that! How sexist!"

This election is fucking stupid, what scares me the most is that this is most likely going to catch the attention of the idiots who re-elected Bush. This whole "controversy" is an insult to the average American intelligence.
