I'm coming up on my 2nd year playing.

The game is not worth going into detail over.. just believe me when I say the game had potential, SEGA fucked up, keeps fucking up, don't wanna unfuck up. Try another game..

    Didn't require a serial # from what I remember.

Well, the appeal of PSU is that it's easy to pick up and play, not having to "sit around" in a hub and wait for others to log on/finish errands etc etc.

I mean, it's college season again, so, so long ffxi. Though, I haven't played since my PC crashed (lol Emachine) in early July, and haven't bothered to play ffxi since I got a new PC.

I do miss the "social aspects" of a mmorpg though, since playing ffxi it made console games see blah, because nobody to talk to while I play hahha!

Are you able to just play the game without having to play online? Seems kinda cool with the house decorating/goddamn I need a new game aspect.

well I enjoy it quite a bit for 360, its same old PSO if you ever played any version, you will feel right at home, it has more weapon skills than the previous versions, and the classes are distinctly different. i dont feel bad playing 10$ a month for it

You need to have an online connection to play story mode.

    ~_~

So.. if..you didn't have the internet, you couldnt play the game at all.

Its nothing like PSO in terms of nostalgia. You'll play it for awhile, and then... meh

I used to play PSO for GC, and so I tried PSU when that came out. Big mistake. They still have the chat text split up on different lines, still block out cuss words, and there didn't really seem to be any improvements besides having your own room. I played PSU for like a week tops and stopped.

I pretty much quit when the hacking started.. I remember having like max money after something sold in my shop for that amount.. wtf.

Honestly there's really no more hacking and hasn't been for a long time on the PS2/Servers. Sega's been really good about stomping exploits. Tbh they've been making the game easier to appeal to more new players. Problem with the game pretty much is it gets stale real quick. That's why I play in short bursts instead of trying to play for long periods of time.

i was a hardcore PSO player on DC... but i didn't even bother to pick this one up after i check out the demo.

if you didn't play PSO, it will still be fun for a while - nothing like killing the last boss at 4 am for the 50th time with friends. and idk obviously about the cheats. but it totally destroyed the DC version iirc.

Same, I first started on the DC, then when the DC servers wen't kaput I moved to PC/GC. Then once those two failed due to excessive hackers I bought a Xbox that came with it. And played it last on there.

I remember awhile back there was a really nice custom server (google pso custom server and you'll probably find it.) But they support Xbox/GC/PC/DC now iirc private with custom quests, etc.

Anyways it was fun while it was, it filled a big gap in my mmo life up until Lineage 2/FFXI/WoW

It sucked at the start, it sucked years down the road, it sucked when I played again for shits and giggles a month ago when SEGA had some free thing going on.

PSO was fantastic, and PSU is crap. I just don't understand why they changed a winning formula. I think I would have been more happy with PSO:E1,2,4 and 5 (5 would be new, right? Ep. 4 was in Blue Burst, I think <_<).

200 HUcaseal, 174 FOnewearl, 124 RAmarl is what I had in the GC version. I really miss playing it online

I tried PSU for a bit after it launched, didn't take long for them to hack it. (lolPS2 version) I remember being on Universe 1 in the lobby and some player named OptimusPrime was passing out 100k meseta to everyone. Had a level 40-ish Fortefighter, but other than grinding, the game didn't have much to offer...was pretty disappointed overall.

I enjoyed the time I did have on it, I played with a lot of friends (some from here) and that really made the game last a lot longer than it should have, even going back a year later there was alot more things to do but the game was basically dying, and unless you still had a core group to play with, it got boring really fast.

It was a fun game to play casually though, and despite what some people say I did enjoy what they did with the combat system and all the different weapons. It's just that after 8 years of making these fucking games you'd think Sega would know what they were doing by now

If I could get a bunch of friends to go back I'd play casually for a while again, just to catch up on all the new stuff they added since I quit (I quit at level 68 and the level cap is like 140 now >.>)
