Connectivity Issues

Is anyone else experiencing any problems with playonline connectivity? I signed in last night and it took like 10 minute to get through the "Loading Friend List" "Loading Messages" bars and then basically froze for 10-15 minutes more before an error message popped up saying that POL could not load the "content".

I completely exited out of POL, and tried again. Same thing. Tried without using the windower launched POL, restarted computer, tried a different cable wire, and it all resulted in the same thing. I don't remember the exact error number, I kind of forgot to write it down.

So now I decided to try reinstalling POL just to see if that would work, and it took 5 minutes to decide that POL even needed to be updated, and now the files are done being checked, and it says I have ~7 hours left for the POL update to finish downloading and it is only ~350 files in size.

Is there something else I should do, or is it just a fluke with my system, or has anyone else experienced this recently?

EDIT: So I just got the POL-1160 error message 3 times in a row after letting POL sit for about 15-20 minutes each time. So something is definitely an issue, I just don't know what it is and how I should go about fixing it. It just seems strange that every other internet based application on my computer is working 100% fine, but my comp just refuses to connect with SE's servers.

I had the same thing today too. Even though my other comp was just fine. No idea whats causing it.

Yelling at my modem usually solves the problem.

Its not my end, nothing else was going slow on any of our ~4machines. Just ffxi.

It's been several hours, and still no change. Staring at a POL download update screen that's taken 5 minutes to download 20% of only 1 of the 300 files.

I wonder if this is something that talking to SE about would fix or if we'll just have to wait it through.

I never have issue connecting and today when I tried to log on it timed out trying to connect. Hmm...

Happened to me. First time in about 2 years that I've had alot of trouble trying to logon. I reset my modem and router 7 times trying to figure out why my connection was so slow. I'd login, get about 20 seconds if that before I'd R0 into disconnection land. Went on for almost 45 minutes between 11pm and 12pm EST.

same here but i think we gona have the same thing when happend last yr (or early this yr ) when SE put big update, this gona happen more with more glitchings after Sep update /sigh
