Computer freaking out? (Don't know how to describe)

So, I left my old (Rather reliable) computer at my house and took my new baller one to college with me about a week ago. I'm back for Labor Day Weekend and I tried booting up the old computer and it has totally gone to shit. Nobody has used it, it just hasn't been turned on in about a week. I assume it's a video card problem because the screen is set to 4-bit Color and the resolution is unable to be changed. I can't even get on the Firefox to get Omega Drivers without it closing itself because of all the flashplayer stuff that 4-bit color can't handle.

It says my drivers are currently out of date for my version of windows, but I literally haven't done anything to it for a week and come back to this shit. I'm rather pissed off, what should I do...

I've restarted 5-6 times, checked the video card, checked the monitor...I got nothing, especially since I can't even get online to get new drivers...

Tried replacing the video card with another (newer) one and it won't even take me to the desktop now.

does it have onboard video? if it does try to boot with that output, try using vga mode by hitting F8 While windows is starting, see if either of those work.

Yeah, put your old video card back in and try to boot in safe mode, tell us what happens.
