I use a couch lol. (Well a love seat to be more specific) Works great imo and they are a decent price. But you have to be able to use a keyboard on your lap.

They have huge back to school sales at Staples Business Depot currently.

$79.99 CDN for a reclining true leather ergo computer chair. I took a look at it and there seems to be some parts that might break, but they offer a Furniture Replacement Plan for like $13.99 for one year. They build it for you as well. Not a bad deal at all really...when you're using it for two school semesters.

I use a lawn chair, cheap, effective, can store it away easily and still somewhat comfortable, did i mention it's cheap as hell?

I got an amazing chair at sam's club for $100 last year. It's really big with a high back, leather, and comfy. I love it, so the people saying you need to spend $3-500 for a chair aren't exactly right, and you can get really nice ones for $100. I don't know the name of the chair but it's from True Seating Concepts (and I had to roll around my floor for a while to figure that out).

Got those at work too, they're great! Too bad they're definitely out of my price range for home use...

I have 3 different friends that own that chair. They were gladly surprised of what they got by that price.
That's the one I've been using for the past year or so. I love it, never had any problems with it. Absolutely recommend it, especially if you want to avoid spending several hundred dollars but still want a nice chair.

160 dollars on sale at office depot got me my executive chair. Probably the closest thing to a recliner in comfort lol. I've actually fell asleep in it many times. Just go to a place that sells chairs and sit in all them to try them out. Looks don't mean shit if it feels like sitting on cardboard.

I've been through at least 3 of these kinds of chairs. I'm not by any means heavy (6'7" 190 lbs), but I snap the arms regularly within a few months of use. Leaning back in these chairs is not a good idea, because the back is only supported by the plastic arms, and after leaning back enough you can snap the arms where they're bolted to the base.. and then all of the sudden you have a backless chair, or something you try to fix with duct tape that still sucks.

I am dissatisfied with my current chair, got it at like Best Buy or something for $80. Can't find a good one that isn't stupid expensive.

I used to have one of those expensive office chairs, although while helping my parents clean their house out to sell I came across this gem lurking in their basement. It's an older wood office chair which while looking at does not appear to be very remarkable, although I find it more comfortable than any other chair that I've ever used. I plan on keeping it forever.

I got one of the Herman Miller Aeron chairs for my house. They are simply amazing. They recline really far back, have an adjustable lower back support, you can change the tension in them, etc.

I actually got it free though, brand new. My mom worked for the US HQ of Fuji Film and they were relocating because the lease on the building they were in was up. For the new building they were getting all new stuff so they were going through chairs. We also got another chair free thats supposed to be over $600.

I have a Lane, it was between 200-300$ I believe... Went to staples and literally sat in every chair they had on display about 10x each, took me about 1.5hours before I took this one home. I wasn't going to spend so much, but after sitting in it, I had to have it.

I can't find a single picture of it online now, so I guess it's not for sale anymore.. maybe it's not as good of a chair as I make it out to be, but it was the best one in the store. Period. Especially for long durations. After work I'm pretty much In my computer chair all day until I go to sleep. Anywhere from 2-8hours/day.
