It's going to be on November 15th. So three months away. Pretty damn soon actually.

I hope to god they really do get fedor vs couture. The Lesnar vs couture fight reminds me too much of Lesnar vs Hogan in wwe for some reason, I guess its all hype and theatre.

After a set amount of time he would be stripped of his title, and which point whoever was the interim champion would then become champ in an official capacity.

I hope this is a good fight. I like both fighters a lot, but Randy is going to have to pull something out of the air for him to win I think (like Mir). He will have to capitalize on a mistake and make sure that shit counts.

These are the type of matches that lead to the downfall of boxing, behind the scene money matches that are completely irrelevant to the skill or ranking of a fighter. Who the hell has Brock beaten to deserve a shot at the title? Herring!? gtfo please. Couture's going to submit this chump in the first round like Mir did. MMA in general is starting to drift more and more into a WWE style gimmick with not only this, but that ridiculously over-hyped Kimbo garbage in EliteXC.

I thought Dana White was better then this. He's submitting to mainstream media dictating these kinds of ridiculous matches when any true MMA fan are thinking wtf?

Ya, this fight is a bit of BS. Of course I want to see Couture put Lesnar in his place, but he doesn't deserve a shot at the title just yet. Granted the HW division is fairly weak, so this fight would be sooner than later anyway.

Again, everyone knows it's not a "true title fight" until the Nog/Mir winner is beaten. Nog/Mir are tied up at the moment, Couture is willing to come back into the UFC fold to do this, HW division is weak.

Do some people not see Lesnar as a top-5 HW in UFC?

I put him at #5 in the UFC. Only because he has had only 2 fights.

1 Couture
2 Nog/Mir
4 Werdum
5 Lesnar

Randy Couture since he is still the champion at 1. Nog/Mir can be interchanged 2 and 3. Werdum 4 since he beat Vera I guess. Lesnar at #5.

So yeah... they skipped over Werdum... who the fuck cares? It's not like it's a complete non-contender fighting for the belt.

Lesnar could definitely be considered a top 5. But there is nothing to really prove that yet. Why the hell didn't Cheick Kongo get a shot at Couture? He's proven himself and dare I say earned a shot. But Dana said it during the conference call "Lesner vs Couture is what people want to see". So who gets a shot at the title is now decided by popularity, might as well call it Ultimate Fighting Idol.

Congo lost to Heath Herring..... who got fucking destroyed by Lesnar. If Congo beat Herring then I would agree with you.

Lesnar lost to the #2/3 Ranked Heavyweight (Mir), hasn't fought #4 (Werdum), and beat the piss out of #6 (Herring). I thing that is enough to prove a #5 spot don't you think?

I don't think you're considering the fact that the UFC Heavyweight Division is garbage. Outside of the Top 6 you have 1 guy that they could put Lesnar against that anyone would remotely care about, which is Congo.

If Lesnar had 4-5 other fights against the rest of the nobodies would it really make a difference?
