WHO THE FUCK IS THIS DEV TEAM!!!! /orgasm
Been doing Nyzul 4 runs a week now for nearly 10 months and have 2 discs at 100 and 51 armor drops. Nyzul I think is still the one event I love most atm and am always annoyed I can't do it more often. I don't find it hard and enjoy the 2 hours a week I spend on a fast paced event which is always different. Yes it is slightly annoying we spent all that time getting 2 discs to 100 but I had a huge amount of fun doing it and my static has been very successful and efficient and nearly all 6 of us have every armor drop we want. I think 3 hats, 2 legs, 1 feet, 1 hands and we are done pretty much.
What we actually need now are weapons to drop. 3 people need GKT and we have yet to see one so I am glad once we spend 5 sessions getting our other static members a 100 disc that we can force drop the GKT and other weapons if need be. I have 12/20 weapons on the storage NPC but most of them I don't have the jobs levelled lol ;; I am still missing 4 of my 75 jobs. The addition of 2 weapons at 100 and 1 weapon elsewhere is very nice.
Overall I like the changes, even if it does potentially make it slightly too easy but only time will tell.

Tried to make it nicer but need to hax me some photoshop for my mac, wordart editing ftl
Not much said on this, but I'm actually really glad about the EP-DC mob exp changes because leveling on PUP stuck at 68 for about 2 weeks now this is a god send. I can do Campaign for ok EXP, but that leaves skills under cap, I kind of like doing a bit of farming/skillingup/NPC leveling and getting exp all at the same time.![]()
While you're right about the tokens, but we wouldn't have spent five times clearing floors 1-15, 21-35, 41-55, 61-75, and 81-95. We wouldn't have had the same person get his disc to floor 100 twice to farm weapons. We wouldn't have used 600,000 tokens to use 2 different disc holders farming floor 100 alone, nor would we have had to climb the towers off everyone's disc using five different discs.
Saving everyone's progress for each disc means you have to spend 25-30 runs (depending on failure rate, and assuming everyone needs to be the disc holder to get a Runic Key) to get 6 Runic Keys and the corresponding weapons. Before it took six times that. For those who have already climbed the tower 5 1/2 times and gotten primary Nyzul weapons for everyone, this pretty much sucks. I didn't start out doing Nyzul for a Mythic Weapon; now I feel as though I need to get a Mythic Weapon in order to justify the last eighteen months of Mondays, as the tokens I received will be the only real reward for having started it early.
Oh wait, I used ~80,000 tokens on tower climbs, boss climbs and warping out on floor 100... I've been doing Nyzul for 15 months, and just hit 75,000 tokens two days ago. The guy who has climbed the tower twice has about 65,000. I just did the calculations yesterday to figure out that if we got our last 2 3/4 discs to floor 100 while doing 1 additional boss run a week, we would hit 150,000 tokens right around the time we topped out our last disc. So to get 150,000 tokens, I'm still going to need the same amount of time I needed yesterday.
Will this be good for improving the amount of time spent farming gear instead of just straight tower climbs? Absolutely. Will this be good for shortening the amount of time in the future I have to spend in Nyzul Isle? No. Do I feel like I've been completely screwed out of 15 months of work? Yes.
I realize I'm in the extreme minority here, but holy hell, I feel ripped off.
I think Salvage is fine with a 6 player requirement, and this is from someone who's been kinda screwed when he could find 5, but not six people to enter. Now if they could mak Salvage have a minimum of 3 players to enter instead of 6 if they are fixing "annoyances" this patch :O. I say 3 because thats also the minimum required for Assaults, ofcourse a minimum of 1 would be the best for all those people who want to solo their gear.
This is a pretty good update. I was holding off on Nyzuls while the rest of my semi-static cleared their assault ranks for Captain. We already have one person with a Floor 96 disc, but this will make things easier. I'm not saying there won't be things wrong with this update, or something gets screwed up horribly, but hey.
If people are really unhappy, they can sink their sorrows into a delicious cheese sandwich.
I really wish they would do this. Someone did bring up the idea earlier about SE finally realizing there's so much shit to do in game now, that maybe they adjusted Nyzul so that people could finally be "done" with it.inc "Silver Sea Remnants NM drop rate adjustment"
Truthfully, I'd rather be "done" with Salvage, at least in regards to drops, but it'll probably be potential profit now if they up Alexandrite drop rates.
I love killing EP-DC mobs at low levels, and kill the occasional DC on BST. This update is win just for that.
The end is drawing near. Servers will shut down soon. XD
I'm one happy mother fucker. Maybe Death Sickle will actually drop for me now! <3
.*Please note that all enemies within Nyzul assault will now be Capricious Cassie or dahaks.
So...why? Why is an artificial limitation "fine" when 1-5 people can quite possibly farm whatever NMs they want? Allowing people to enter Einherjar with 6 is certainly far less useful than allowing entry to Salvage with 1 (although I guess if you wanted to drop a bunch of gil to farm ampoules and didn't have a LS...enjoy). I don't see a compelling reason for the 6-person Salvage minimum to remain.
I still don't see how EP-DC will award "substantially" more exp. Chains would help. Skewing the rewards toward the higher end of the current scale would help. I'm not sure that adds up to "substantial", although maybe I've forgotten whose update notes I'm reading.
Couldn't be happier about the Nyzul update. We're still farming floor 80, having formed our static relatively recently (and only going 2x a week since we all do Salvage at least 3-4x), and our other disc is only at 15. This timing is just about perfect for us.
The flow of sandiness in this thread has been remarkably low. Step it up, people.
Bu seriously, folks...
The complaint of "it used to [be hard|be tedious|otherwise suck] and now it does not, which makes all the time I originally wasted on this previously-poorly-designed activity seem like even more of a waste" is not, and never has been, a valid retort to an update.
Update looks full of win, now I'll care to do Nyzel again
News flash: nowhere in this thread did myself or anyone that I saw said there was anything "hard" about it. It's wasting the extra 3 months' worth of tags that's annoying.Originally Posted by Drex

Again, I'm happy with the changes, I'm just a little pissed about the timing.
This is like buying the iPhone when it first came out. You paid out the ass for it but you had a fucking iPhone! Then months later they slash the price. Then you're all "WTF I paid out the ass for this!" but everyone else is like "sweet i can afford one on my McDonalds salary!"
Then the make the new 3g iPhone. Process repeats. More people feel butthurt, but the newbies are like HURRAY!!
It's like first-mover disadvantages. You get to enjoy the Nyzul perks you've gotten up to this point, but if you'd only waited you'd be all like HURRAY!! But hey, you wouldn't have already obtained what you've obtained.
It's going to happen with ANYTHING that you try to do in this game. Try to do it first and you will invest a LOT of time and effort in getting rewards, where others will not have to do as much later (think about CoP, dynamis strategies, HNM strategies, etc.)
