Yeah they announced it for japan this week and I guess rolling it out here this week, but as of yesterday it hadnt been verified by microsoft. Even then u need a damn harddrive, so its kinda stupid imo.

They're lowering the Pro and Elites by $50 too, so they're more competitive with the mid-range PS3 model. That brings them down to $299 and $399 respectively, which ain't bad really. Got my Elite for $349, so I'm certainly not complaining about these cuts, they've still got a way to go.

yea mine got RRoD's two weeks ago....then I did the towel trick, and now it won't work...donno if I'm gonna get another one or try to force it to RRoD again so I can send it to MS for the warranty repair

Depends on the model number. They should be slowly rolling out the jasper model with this cut and that has a 65nm CPU and GPU chip.

I hear the Falcons which are currently out now have a low break rate. Problem with them breaking once is when you send them in, they'll send you a refurbished unit so the chances of them failing again is high.

It depends on which motherboard model you have, and your usage patterns and such. Some don't do it at all, recently bought ones are pretty good in general, and any of the new Jasper models should be pretty much immune.

I actually bought an HDMI adapter for mine. A bit pricey (like $60), but it works like a charm

I've never been a big Xbox fan (PS or nothing) but my bro has been bugging me to split a 360 between us and with this price cut (which I've known was coming for about a month, some places near me had it at $300 Canadian already) combined with a money award I'm getting from school, I'm definately going to pick one up sometime this fall.

I have the BenQ drive on my 360, and by far that's the quietest drive there. I love it!
