Quick question

So, I main ZSS, and i have a question.

Sometimes she does a move, where she does a split in the air, and kicks up. I think its Dmash, same as ike, where he just kind of hops, and puts his sword up.

How do you do that?

Her Dsmash is when she shoots her laser gun at the ground. That's her utilt, and it's performed like how you'd do her ftilt or dtilt: tap the direction you want and press A. However, unlike Smashes, you don't press them at the same time. This is easier performed if you go to Options -> My Controls and take off your tap jump (which disables jumping with your analog stick).

In that video, the spike with her flip->kick (downb), any idea how exactly you have to be positioned to do that? I've done it once or twice but it was an accident

If they're in the air and you're above them when you do the kick it seems to spike them down the majority of the time. I don't think you need to pay much attention to the positioning, just get used to judging how far her down B will go so you know when to start the flip.

She always does it in the opposite direction that you're downb'ing iirc (I don't play ZZS), and you don't have to immediately hit it (you have about 2~3secs after using downb the first time), so basically you need to learn how to space it correctly and hopefully read your opponent. Just try practicing it in Training Mode on a CPU, it's not that hard to learn if you try it out a few times.

You can kick left or right regardless of which way you flipped. It defaults to the direction you flipped from, but if you just hold right or left when you kick it'll go in that direction. It's a good move for KOing, especially against CPU's who hardly ever seem to see it coming.

Well, I'm pretty sure you can actually choose which side of her body she does the kick on (not sure, haven't played in a while) but that kick has some awesome killing power and priority, as easy as it is to see coming

You can spam the same attack against a CPU and win if you have the correct spacing to not get punished. I was just <_<'ing because I can't understand why anyone would bring up a CPU's metagame lol

I dunno, I play computers how I'd play another player so tend not to spam anything. Samus doesn't have many KO options on the ground, I was just pointing out that that's a good one.

ZZS or Samus? ZZS has >B which can easily be combo'd with dsmash, Samus has...uh, well not much. I guess SH missles to her charged blaster works, or dtilt (higher %s) <_<. I hate both so iunno, but there's a guy at my weekly that's siccckkkkk with ZZS and somehow manages to KO me, so *shrugs*

ZSS has some nice stuff, dash->uptilt->uair sometimes works, though i'm pretty sure you can easily airdodge the air hit or (with some characters) just do a higher priority attack

her side b is definitely nice, but i always seem to find the deadspot with it after dsmash =(

ha, will try, i'm not really used to faster-paced characters like fox/zss/falco who can chain their attacks rather quickly so i always do it too fast and only get one hit or the wrong direction and somehow manage 0 hits

People seem to dodge/guard my sideB's all the time, but the only experience I've had online is just laggy as hell, so it's hard to do any sort of comboing. Nobody around here to play with living in the countryside and all. QQ

I guess playing against Ryko who doesn't give me a chance to do anything doesn't help either.

yeah, mine never seem to connect because of the people I play with (guard/dodge and it's always offline), but if it does connect it's real fun :3, but my favorite tool for ko power on ZSS is definitely uair, although an affinity for airgame is inherent in most marth mains i suppose
