Not at all, I knew it would be a matter of time before that ugly "c" word would get tossed around.

The NFC have a lot of teams that could potentially get to the playoffs. Man.. things are falling apart for the AFC.
They have a lot of teams that could get to the playoffs because they have a lot of average teams. If Brady walked off the field, I don't see him missing much, especially with his start record. It wasn't the same leg/foot that was injured in the preseason. The Jags/Titans are just 2 defensive powerhouses playing a division game. It's hard to judge talent in division games, because for the most part, they are always close. The steelers will continue to roll. Assuming Manning is fine, all signs point to harrison being fine, I think the Colts will be just fine. The Chargers however, I don't know. I think that was just a fluke game. AFC has a lot of good depth, NFC has parity. Other than Dallas and possibly Minnesota, I don't see anyone that can hang with the top 5 from the AFC. Maybe the Giants if Jacobs continues to roll, eli remains efficient, and the D stays healthy. Not a lot of depth left for them.

You're kidding me with depth Tyche...right? Besides the AFC South, and half the north... where's the depth, Tyche? The West other than the Chargers is putrid. The North other than the Steelers and Browns I guess? Horrible. The South is an awesome division, and then the East is the Pats > Everyone else. I think the Bills may make the playoffs though. Besides that, no depth there. There are a select 5-6 Elite teams and everyone else. The Jags looked bad, couldn't run, Gerrard played like dogshit, but I don't see that as a reocurring theme all year. They'll be fine I think.

The NFC does have depth. The NFC West may be mediocre, but the Seahawks, Cards, and hell.. 49ers maybe could compete for that division. The NFC North is bad besides the Packers. NFC South has a ton of depth, and if the Falcons play like that all year, they could indeed go worst to first like the previous 5 winners in that division have. We don't have to talk about the East obviously.

Seriously though. I just don't agree with your points, I guess. Not sure which NFL you've been watching though to say that the AFC has real depth outside the AFC South.

As far as my opinion of the Chargers, they did what they always do; play down to the competition.

Parity != talent depth. You're confusing the two. The AFC parity is terrible. Just because the Seahawks, cards, and niners can win the division doesn't mean they could compete on a regular basis with some of the top AFC teams. Seahawks have a good QB and a great lame duck coach. Arizona has a ton of potential, but I've been saying that for 5 years. The niners, who's their QB again? The NFC North has minnesota, you missed them (assuming you don't edit before I type this). Green bay is a mystery.

Edit: Brady's rumored to be out for the season, all arguments are void.

Watching an interview right now on NBC, im sure you all are as well. They are saying that their sources tell them Brady's injury is serious and potentially season ending. The whole tone is as if he just died. Such a golden boy.

Yeah. I forgot the Vikes. My bad. Didn't feel like editing. D: So the North isn't as bad either. They aren't great, but aren't horrible like the AFC West/North. The Bears really aren't horrible. Their defense can be good, and can carry their offense if need be. We'll see how that goes tonight. The Lions are well.. you know.. the Lions, so fuck them.

Anyway, yeah. I know what you mean. O'Sullivan (Niners QB), Arizona, Seattle, and such can't compete with the AFC, sure.. but some of the other teams can I'd think. Giants maybe, Dallas, Philly after the way they played today (even against a shitty opponent).. so blah! Especially now that some of them are weaker, I'd like their chances. Ah well.

Yeah, saw the Tom Brady update. People in Fantasy Land are crying in anguish.

AFC East though now.. I dunno. Jets may be decent, Dolphins didn't play as shitty as I thought they would, the Bills really impressed me too, and now the Pats coming down a notch.

Michael Silver of Yahoo! Sports reports that Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is expected to miss the rest of the 2008 season with a “severe injury to his left knee.”

The injury is widely believed to be a torn ACL. Silver says that there could be other ligament and cartilage damage.

“It’s bad,” a team source told Silver. “We’re going to have to play without him.”

The starter will be Matt Cassel. Unless the Pats bring back Vinny Testaverde. Or Doug Flutie. Or Steve Grogan.

UPDATE: Silver’s report has been updated — the ACL tear is confirmed.

Haha. Yeah. I'm sure a lot of people who drafted Fast Willie are happy. Someone should add to the topic that Brady is done for. =[ Sad day in the NFL.

I hate the patriots, but it'll make the season far less interesting.
