If you play hockey you gotta keep your head up - you get caught watching your stick-handling and you will get your clock fucking cleaned. Same deal in football, target fixation will get you blind-sided, you have to be aware of where the other players are, not just the ball carrier.
Easy, a shoulder into the back of his thigh and let him roll right over you. Any experienced blocker would have known to do that in a situation like that. I'm not trying to say Trent Green's intent was malicious (we all know it wasn't), I'm just saying the play was uncalled for and it could have caused more harm than good.

And it was Ten Ginn for crying out loud. The fastest dude in his draft being chased by a 300 pound lineman. Wtf was trent green doing in that situation is beyond me.

Agreed on your last point about the defender being dumb. But that doesn't make Green's decision any less threatening/retarded.

QBs aren't built like linemen. If they try to shoulderblock a lineman they are going to be dismantled anyway.

Maybe if you're Ben Roethlisberger or another large QB you can get away with it, but you don't have much other choice.

westbrook is a game time decision and plays sunday night. if he opts not to play i have no one on my roster i can replace him with that plays on sun or mon night. soooo do i roll the dice and keep him in or replace him with chris johnson going against the vikings defense? for some reason i know that if i put johnson in he will under perform and westbrook will decide to play and have a 3 td night. SHIT

You're only supposed to hit low at people who are running straight at you. Trent Green got hit on the side of his head. You can't hit the side of your head on someone's knee if you're approaching head on.

and omg, I just watched the video on youtube. The anchor called it a BLIND SIDE CHOP BLOCK within the first 10 seconds of the god damn video. wtf else do I have to say?

Well, I suppose you don't have to say it but it's clear you turned off the video right when a political commentator said something retarded and went off that.

If White wasn't sooooo damn good at getting 2 yard touchdowns, would say CJ in a heartbeat, but yeah, tough spot.

I'm debating on whether or not to trade for Steven Jackson right now. I can probably get him for cheap at this point in time and there's a chance of him turning out well. But I also just can't stop doubting him.

Either way, you're still talking about a football player that got unlucky and took an extremely vicious impact to the head, this isn't boxing, that's not what football is about, and that attitude is bullshit.
I think you're going quite a bit off the deep end here. Seriously Plow, realize where you are. People say idiotic shit on the internet every single day, so please for the love of God, get off your soapbox and talk fantasy football. Same for everyone else in here getting into an ethical argument over Trent fucking Green.

Right now I was just offered Steven Jackson and Anthony Gonzalez for Andre Johnson and Edgerrin.

edit: I didn't answer so he sent another offer, lol. S.Jax and Tony Gonzalez for Andre and Edge. I have Gates already, not sure if I can get a trade for Gonz.

Alright, on the Ward vs Holmes issue....

McCallister is will be covering Ward. From scout.com...

    KEY MATCHUP

Ravens CB Chris McAlister vs. Steelers WR Hines Ward

This represents a critical matchup as the Ravens' top shutdown cornerback will take on a Pro Bowl wide receiver that he has struggled against in the past, particularly against his crisp double moves and post corner routes. McAlister has the requisite size and speed to stop Ward, but will need help over the top from free safety Ed Reed on deep routes. Ward is dangerous in the red zone with 36 career touchdown
    Here's the matchup.

    http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/5483/fflmf0.jpg

He has the Ravens D, La'Ron McClain, and a .5point lead. The scoring system is yardage heavy.

    -.5 points per catch
+1 point for every 7 yards of receiving
TDs are 6 points of course

So optimal scoring would be a lot of yards over very few catches. A couple of bombs. Which makes me lean toward for going for broke and putting in Holmes. Especially with the Ward vs Ravens secondary rivalry I'm reading about, however, he's (Ward) apparently burned McCallister pretty bad in the past.

    -.5 points per catch?

What kind of fucked up league is this?

I like most of the point system, the only thing I hate...and I really really hate it, is that it heavily favors lucky breakout games. I think Larry Johnson dropped 50 points in this league this week. If your RB has a breakout game (150+ yards and 2-3TDs), he's probably going to score in to 40+ range. It's yardage and YPC heavy.

god I caught a lucky break this week, opponent forgot to swap out palmer and westbrook, and Larry Johnson had a monster game for me, so pretty much steam rolled him this week. Excellent timing as I was twisted into having to play Isaac Bruce and Arnaz Battle today due to Indy's bye week.

Fucking pissed that I didn't put in Trent Edwards against St. Louis instead of Rivers against Oakland.

Lost by 1.5 points and Edwards of course outscored Rivers by 3.

    Shit.

I got really lucky snagging Chris Johnson as one of my flex players as well as Jerricho Cotchery(in another league.) And I benched Schaub in place of Delhomme. Luckily Delhomme had a pretty decent day.

I dunno, personally I'd trust that Johnson will get better and Edge is doing fine.

Good god did I get lucky this past week.

My opponenet (and manager at work) started Kurt Warner over Favre. I'm now ahead going into tonights game, He has Ravens DST and I'm sitting on Willis McGahee and up 16 points. Lets hope that he at least touches the ball and the ravens can put up some serious yards.

Gonna be rough against that Pittsburgh run D tho >_<

Well, wouldn't you need McGahee to put up some serious yards, but the Steelers to put up some points so you can maintain your lead? That'd be nice for me too. I want a shootout. I have Mendenhall going for me, lol.
